Romanos 13— comparação

1Que toda pessoa se sujeite às autoridades superiores, pois não há autoridade que não venha de Deus, e as que existem foram ordenadas por Deus.

2Portanto, aquele que resiste à autoridade opõe-se à ordenação de Deus; e os que se opõem receberão julgamento sobre si mesmos.

3Pois os governantes não são motivo de terror para a boa obra, mas para a má. Você deseja não ter medo da autoridade? Faça o que é bom, e você terá o louvor da autoridade,

4pois ele é servo de Deus para o seu bem. Mas, se você fizer o que é mau, tenha medo, pois ele não carrega a espada em vão; pois é servo de Deus, um vingador para trazer a ira sobre aquele que pratica o mal.

5Portanto, é necessário estar sujeito, não apenas por causa da ira, mas também por causa da consciência.

6Por esta razão vocês também pagam impostos, pois eles são servos a serviço de Deus, dedicando-se continuamente a isso mesmo.

7Portanto, deem a todos o que vocês devem: se devem impostos, paguem impostos; se tributos, então tributos; se respeito, então respeito; se honra, então honra.

8Não devam nada a ninguém, a não ser o amarem-se uns aos outros; pois aquele que ama o seu próximo cumpriu a lei.

9Pois os mandamentos: “Não cometerás adultério”, “Não matarás”, “Não furtarás”, “Não cobiçarás”, e quaisquer outros mandamentos que existam, todos se resumem nesta frase, a saber: “Você amará o seu próximo como a si mesmo.”

10O amor não faz mal ao próximo. O amor, portanto, é o cumprimento da lei.

11Façam isso, conhecendo o tempo, que já é hora de vocês despertarem do sono, pois a salvação está agora mais perto de nós do que quando cremos pela primeira vez.

12A noite está bem avançada, e o dia está próximo. Portanto, despojemo-nos das obras das trevas, e vistamos a armadura da luz.

13Andemos decentemente, como de dia; não em orgias e bebedeiras, não em promiscuidade sexual e atos de lascívia, e não em contendas e ciúmes.

14Mas revistam-se do Senhor Jesus Cristo, e não façam provisão para a carne, para as suas concupiscências.

1Let every soul be in subjection to the higher authorities, for there is no authority except from God, and those who exist are ordained by God.

2Therefore he who resists the authority withstands the ordinance of God; and those who withstand will receive to themselves judgment.

3For rulers are not a terror to the good work, but to the evil. Do you desire to have no fear of the authority? Do that which is good, and you will have praise from the authority,

4for he is a servant of God to you for good. But if you do that which is evil, be afraid, for he doesn’t bear the sword in vain; for he is a servant of God, an avenger for wrath to him who does evil.

5Therefore you need to be in subjection, not only because of the wrath, but also for conscience’ sake.

6For this reason you also pay taxes, for they are servants of God’s service, continually doing this very thing.

7Therefore give everyone what you owe: if you owe taxes, pay taxes; if customs, then customs; if respect, then respect; if honor, then honor.

8Owe no one anything, except to love one another; for he who loves his neighbor has fulfilled the law.

9For the commandments, “You shall not commit adultery,” “You shall not murder,” “You shall not steal,” “You shall not covet,” and whatever other commandments there are, are all summed up in this saying, namely, “You shall love your neighbor as yourself.”

10Love doesn’t harm a neighbor. Love therefore is the fulfillment of the law.

11Do this, knowing the time, that it is already time for you to awaken out of sleep, for salvation is now nearer to us than when we first believed.

12The night is far gone, and the day is near. Let’s therefore throw off the deeds of darkness, and let’s put on the armor of light.

13Let’s walk properly, as in the day; not in reveling and drunkenness, not in sexual promiscuity and lustful acts, and not in strife and jealousy.

14But put on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make no provision for the flesh, for its lusts.
