Jeremias 28— comparação

1Naquele mesmo ano, no início do reinado de Zedequias, rei de Judá, no quarto ano, no quinto mês, Hananias, filho de Azur, o profeta, que era de Gibeão, falou comigo na casa do SENHOR, na presença dos sacerdotes e de todo o povo, dizendo:

2“Assim diz o SENHOR dos Exércitos, o Deus de Israel: 'Eu quebrei o jugo do rei da Babilônia.

3Dentro de dois anos completos, trarei de volta a este lugar todos os utensílios da casa do SENHOR que Nabucodonosor, rei da Babilônia, tirou deste lugar e levou para a Babilônia.

4Também trarei de volta a este lugar Jeconias, filho de Jeoaquim, rei de Judá, com todos os cativos de Judá que foram para a Babilônia', diz o SENHOR; 'pois eu quebrarei o jugo do rei da Babilônia'.”

5Então o profeta Jeremias disse ao profeta Hananias, na presença dos sacerdotes e na presença de todo o povo que estava na casa do SENHOR,

6o profeta Jeremias disse: “Amém! Que o SENHOR faça assim. Que o SENHOR cumpra as suas palavras que você profetizou, trazendo de volta os utensílios da casa do SENHOR, e todos os cativos, da Babilônia para este lugar.

7Contudo, ouça agora esta palavra que eu falo aos seus ouvidos, e aos ouvidos de todo o povo:

8Os profetas que existiram antes de mim e antes de você, desde os tempos antigos, profetizaram contra muitos países e contra grandes reinos, sobre guerra, sobre desgraça e sobre peste.

9Quanto ao profeta que profetiza a paz, quando a palavra do profeta se cumprir, então o profeta será reconhecido como alguém que o SENHOR verdadeiramente enviou.”

10Então o profeta Hananias tirou a canga do pescoço do profeta Jeremias, e a quebrou.

11Hananias falou na presença de todo o povo, dizendo: “Assim diz o SENHOR: 'Deste mesmo modo quebrarei o jugo de Nabucodonosor, rei da Babilônia, do pescoço de todas as nações, dentro de dois anos completos.'” Então o profeta Jeremias seguiu o seu caminho.

12Então a palavra do SENHOR veio a Jeremias, depois que o profeta Hananias quebrou a canga do pescoço do profeta Jeremias, dizendo:

13“Vá, e diga a Hananias: 'Assim diz o SENHOR: “Você quebrou as cangas de madeira, mas em seu lugar você fez cangas de ferro.”

14Pois assim diz o SENHOR dos Exércitos, o Deus de Israel: “Coloquei um jugo de ferro no pescoço de todas estas nações, para que sirvam a Nabucodonosor, rei da Babilônia; e eles o servirão. Eu também lhe dei os animais do campo.”'”

15Então o profeta Jeremias disse ao profeta Hananias: “Ouça, Hananias! O SENHOR não o enviou, mas você faz este povo confiar em uma mentira.

16Portanto, assim diz o SENHOR: 'Eis que eu o tirarei da face da terra. Este ano você morrerá, porque você pregou rebelião contra o SENHOR.'”

17Assim, o profeta Hananias morreu naquele mesmo ano, no sétimo mês.

1That same year, in the beginning of the reign of Zedekiah king of Judah, in the fourth year, in the fifth month, Hananiah the son of Azzur, the prophet, who was of Gibeon, spoke to me in Yahweh’s house, in the presence of the priests and of all the people, saying,

2“Yahweh of Armies, the God of Israel, says, ‘I have broken the yoke of the king of Babylon.

3Within two full years I will bring again into this place all the vessels of Yahweh’s house that Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon took away from this place and carried to Babylon.

4I will bring again to this place Jeconiah the son of Jehoiakim, king of Judah, with all the captives of Judah, who went to Babylon,’ says Yahweh; ‘for I will break the yoke of the king of Babylon.’”

5Then the prophet Jeremiah said to the prophet Hananiah in the presence of the priests, and in the presence of all the people who stood in Yahweh’s house,

6even the prophet Jeremiah said, “Amen! May Yahweh do so. May Yahweh perform your words which you have prophesied, to bring again the vessels of Yahweh’s house, and all those who are captives, from Babylon to this place.

7Nevertheless listen now to this word that I speak in your ears, and in the ears of all the people:

8The prophets who have been before me and before you of old prophesied against many countries, and against great kingdoms, of war, of evil, and of pestilence.

9As for the prophet who prophesies of peace, when the word of the prophet happens, then the prophet will be known, that Yahweh has truly sent him.”

10Then Hananiah the prophet took the bar from off the prophet Jeremiah’s neck, and broke it.

11Hananiah spoke in the presence of all the people, saying, “Yahweh says: ‘Even so I will break the yoke of Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon from off the neck of all the nations within two full years.’” Then the prophet Jeremiah went his way.

12Then Yahweh’s word came to Jeremiah, after Hananiah the prophet had broken the bar from off the neck of the prophet Jeremiah, saying,

13“Go, and tell Hananiah, saying, ‘Yahweh says, “You have broken the bars of wood, but you have made in their place bars of iron.”

14For Yahweh of Armies, the God of Israel says, “I have put a yoke of iron on the neck of all these nations, that they may serve Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon; and they will serve him. I have also given him the animals of the field.”’”

15Then the prophet Jeremiah said to Hananiah the prophet, “Listen, Hananiah! Yahweh has not sent you, but you make this people trust in a lie.

16Therefore Yahweh says, ‘Behold, I will send you away from off the surface of the earth. This year you will die, because you have spoken rebellion against Yahweh.’”

17So Hananiah the prophet died the same year in the seventh month.
