Isaías 28— comparação

1Ai da coroa de orgulho dos bêbados de Efraim, e da flor murcha da sua gloriosa beleza, que está sobre a cabeça do vale fértil daqueles que são dominados pelo vinho!

2Eis que o Senhor tem alguém que é poderoso e forte. Como uma tempestade de granizo, uma tempestade destruidora, e como uma tempestade de águas impetuosas que transbordam, ele os lançará por terra com a sua mão.

3A coroa de orgulho dos bêbados de Efraim será pisada aos pés.

4A flor murcha da sua gloriosa beleza, que está sobre a cabeça do vale fértil, será como o primeiro figo maduro antes do verão, que alguém colhe e come assim que o vê.

5Naquele dia, o SENHOR dos Exércitos se tornará uma coroa de glória e um diadema de beleza para o remanescente do seu povo,

6e um espírito de justiça para aquele que se assenta para julgar, e força para aqueles que fazem recuar a batalha na porta.

7Eles também cambaleiam por causa do vinho, e tropeçam por causa da bebida forte. O sacerdote e o profeta cambaleiam por causa da bebida forte. Eles são engolidos pelo vinho. Eles tropeçam por causa da bebida forte. Eles erram na visão. Eles tropeçam no julgamento.

8Pois todas as mesas estão completamente cheias de vômito imundo e sujeira.

9A quem ele ensinará o conhecimento? A quem ele explicará a mensagem? Àqueles que foram desmamados do leite, e afastados dos seios?

10Pois é preceito sobre preceito, preceito sobre preceito; linha sobre linha, linha sobre linha; um pouco aqui, um pouco ali.

11Mas ele falará a esta nação com lábios gaguejantes e em outra língua,

12a quem ele disse: “Este é o lugar de descanso. Deem descanso ao cansado”, e “Este é o refrigério”; contudo, eles não quiseram ouvir.

13Portanto, a palavra do SENHOR será para eles preceito sobre preceito, preceito sobre preceito; linha sobre linha, linha sobre linha; um pouco aqui, um pouco ali; para que vão, caiam para trás, sejam quebrantados, fiquem enlaçados e sejam presos.

14Portanto, ouçam a palavra do SENHOR, vocês, zombadores, que governam este povo em Jerusalém:

15“Porque vocês disseram: ‘Fizemos uma aliança com a morte, e estamos em acordo com o Seol. Quando o flagelo transbordante passar, não chegará a nós; pois fizemos da mentira o nosso refúgio, e nos escondemos debaixo da falsidade.’”

16Portanto, o Senhor DEUS diz: “Eis que ponho em Sião como alicerce uma pedra, uma pedra provada, uma pedra angular preciosa de um alicerce seguro. Aquele que crê não agirá precipitadamente.

17Farei da justiça a linha de medir, e da retidão o prumo. O granizo varrerá o refúgio das mentiras, e as águas transbordarão o esconderijo.

18A sua aliança com a morte será anulada, e o seu acordo com o Seol não subsistirá. Quando o flagelo transbordante passar, então vocês serão pisoteados por ele.

19Sempre que passar, ele os agarrará; pois manhã após manhã ele passará, de dia e de noite; e será puro terror entender a mensagem.”

20Pois a cama é curta demais para alguém se esticar, e o cobertor é estreito demais para alguém se enrolar.

21Pois o SENHOR se levantará como no monte Perazim. Ele se irará como no vale de Gibeão; para que ele possa fazer a sua obra, a sua obra incomum, e realizar o seu ato, o seu ato extraordinário.

22Agora, portanto, não sejam zombadores, para que as suas amarras não se tornem mais fortes; pois ouvi um decreto de destruição da parte do Senhor, o DEUS dos Exércitos, sobre toda a terra.

23Deem ouvidos, e ouçam a minha voz! Prestem atenção, e ouçam o meu discurso!

24Por acaso aquele que ara para semear, ara continuamente? Ele fica sempre revirando a terra e quebrando os torrões?

25Quando ele nivela a superfície, não planta o endro, e espalha a semente de cominho, e coloca o trigo em fileiras, a cevada no lugar determinado, e a espelta no seu lugar?

26Pois o seu Deus o instrui no julgamento correto e o ensina.

27Pois o endro não é debulhado com um instrumento pontiagudo, nem a roda de uma carroça é passada sobre o cominho; mas o endro é batido com uma vara, e o cominho com um bastão.

28O grão para o pão deve ser moído; por isso ele não o debulhará para sempre. Embora ele passe a roda da sua carroça de debulhar sobre ele, os seus cavalos não o moem.

29Isso também procede do SENHOR dos Exércitos, que é maravilhoso em conselho, e excelente em sabedoria.

1Woe to the crown of pride of the drunkards of Ephraim, and to the fading flower of his glorious beauty, which is on the head of the fertile valley of those who are overcome with wine!

2Behold, the Lord has one who is mighty and strong. Like a storm of hail, a destroying storm, and like a storm of mighty waters overflowing, he will cast them down to the earth with his hand.

3The crown of pride of the drunkards of Ephraim will be trodden under foot.

4The fading flower of his glorious beauty, which is on the head of the fertile valley, shall be like the first-ripe fig before the summer, which someone picks and eats as soon as he sees it.

5In that day, Yahweh of Armies will become a crown of glory and a diadem of beauty to the residue of his people,

6and a spirit of justice to him who sits in judgment, and strength to those who turn back the battle at the gate.

7They also reel with wine, and stagger with strong drink. The priest and the prophet reel with strong drink. They are swallowed up by wine. They stagger with strong drink. They err in vision. They stumble in judgment.

8For all tables are completely full of filthy vomit and filthiness.

9Whom will he teach knowledge? To whom will he explain the message? Those who are weaned from the milk, and drawn from the breasts?

10For it is precept on precept, precept on precept; line on line, line on line; here a little, there a little.

11But he will speak to this nation with stammering lips and in another language,

12to whom he said, “This is the resting place. Give rest to the weary,” and “This is the refreshing;” yet they would not hear.

13Therefore Yahweh’s word will be to them precept on precept, precept on precept; line on line, line on line; here a little, there a little; that they may go, fall backward, be broken, be snared, and be taken.

14Therefore hear Yahweh’s word, you scoffers, that rule this people in Jerusalem:

15“Because you have said, ‘We have made a covenant with death, and we are in agreement with Sheol. When the overflowing scourge passes through, it won’t come to us; for we have made lies our refuge, and we have hidden ourselves under falsehood.’”

16Therefore the Lord Yahweh says, “Behold, I lay in Zion for a foundation a stone, a tried stone, a precious cornerstone of a sure foundation. He who believes shall not act hastily.

17I will make justice the measuring line, and righteousness the plumb line. The hail will sweep away the refuge of lies, and the waters will overflow the hiding place.

18Your covenant with death shall be annulled, and your agreement with Sheol shall not stand. When the overflowing scourge passes through, then you will be trampled down by it.

19As often as it passes through, it will seize you; for morning by morning it will pass through, by day and by night; and it will be nothing but terror to understand the message.”

20For the bed is too short to stretch out on, and the blanket is too narrow to wrap oneself in.

21For Yahweh will rise up as on Mount Perazim. He will be angry as in the valley of Gibeon; that he may do his work, his unusual work, and bring to pass his act, his extraordinary act.

22Now therefore don’t be scoffers, lest your bonds be made strong; for I have heard a decree of destruction from the Lord, Yahweh of Armies, on the whole earth.

23Give ear, and hear my voice! Listen, and hear my speech!

24Does he who plows to sow plow continually? Does he keep turning the soil and breaking the clods?

25When he has leveled its surface, doesn’t he plant the dill, and scatter the cumin seed, and put in the wheat in rows, the barley in the appointed place, and the spelt in its place?

26For his God instructs him in right judgment and teaches him.

27For the dill isn’t threshed with a sharp instrument, neither is a cart wheel turned over the cumin; but the dill is beaten out with a stick, and the cumin with a rod.

28Bread flour must be ground; so he will not always be threshing it. Although he drives the wheel of his threshing cart over it, his horses don’t grind it.

29This also comes out from Yahweh of Armies, who is wonderful in counsel, and excellent in wisdom.
