Gênesis 1— comparação

1No princípio, Deus criou os céus e a terra.

2A terra era sem forma e vazia. As trevas estavam sobre a superfície do abismo e o Espírito de Deus pairava sobre a superfície das águas.

3Disse Deus: “Haja luz”, e houve luz.

4Deus viu a luz, e viu que era boa. Deus separou a luz das trevas.

5Deus chamou à luz “dia”, e às trevas ele chamou “noite”. Houve tarde e houve manhã, o primeiro dia.

6Disse Deus: “Haja um firmamento no meio das águas, e que ele separe as águas das águas.”

7Deus fez o firmamento, e separou as águas que estavam debaixo do firmamento das águas que estavam por cima do firmamento; e assim foi.

8Deus chamou ao firmamento “céu”. Houve tarde e houve manhã, o segundo dia.

9Disse Deus: “Que as águas debaixo do céu se ajuntem num só lugar, e apareça a porção seca”; e assim foi.

10Deus chamou à porção seca “terra”, e ao ajuntamento das águas ele chamou “mares”. Deus viu que era bom.

11Disse Deus: “Que a terra produza relva, ervas que deem semente, e árvores frutíferas que deem fruto segundo a sua espécie, com as suas sementes nele, sobre a terra”; e assim foi.

12A terra produziu relva, ervas dando semente segundo a sua espécie, e árvores dando fruto, com as suas sementes nele, segundo a sua espécie; e Deus viu que era bom.

13Houve tarde e houve manhã, o terceiro dia.

14Disse Deus: “Haja luminares no firmamento do céu para separar o dia da noite; e que eles sirvam de sinais para marcar as estações, os dias e os anos;

15e que eles sirvam de luminares no firmamento do céu para iluminar a terra”; e assim foi.

16Deus fez os dois grandes luminares: o luminar maior para governar o dia, e o luminar menor para governar a noite. Ele fez também as estrelas.

17Deus os colocou no firmamento do céu para iluminar a terra,

18e para governar sobre o dia e sobre a noite, e para separar a luz das trevas. Deus viu que era bom.

19Houve tarde e houve manhã, o quarto dia.

20Disse Deus: “Que as águas fervilhem de criaturas vivas, e que as aves voem sobre a terra no firmamento aberto do céu.”

21Deus criou as grandes criaturas marinhas e toda criatura viva que se move, com as quais as águas fervilhavam, segundo a sua espécie, e toda ave alada segundo a sua espécie. Deus viu que era bom.

22Deus os abençoou, dizendo: “Sejam férteis e multipliquem-se, e encham as águas nos mares, e que as aves se multipliquem sobre a terra.”

23Houve tarde e houve manhã, o quinto dia.

24Disse Deus: “Que a terra produza criaturas vivas segundo a sua espécie, gado, animais rastejantes e animais da terra segundo a sua espécie”; e assim foi.

25Deus fez os animais da terra segundo a sua espécie, e o gado segundo a sua espécie, e tudo o que rasteja sobre a terra segundo a sua espécie. Deus viu que era bom.

26Disse Deus: “Façamos o homem à nossa imagem, conforme a nossa semelhança. Que eles tenham domínio sobre os peixes do mar, e sobre as aves do céu, e sobre o gado, e sobre toda a terra, e sobre todo animal rastejante que rasteja sobre a terra.”

27Deus criou o homem à sua própria imagem. À imagem de Deus ele o criou; macho e fêmea ele os criou.

28Deus os abençoou. Deus lhes disse: “Sejam férteis, multipliquem-se, encham a terra e subjuguem-na. Tenham domínio sobre os peixes do mar, sobre as aves do céu e sobre todo ser vivo que se move sobre a terra.”

29Disse Deus: “Eis que, eu lhes dei toda erva que dá semente, que está sobre a superfície de toda a terra, e toda árvore que dá fruto com semente. Isso servirá de alimento para vocês.

30E a todo animal da terra, e a toda ave do céu, e a tudo o que rasteja sobre a terra, em que há vida, eu dei toda erva verde como alimento”; e assim foi.

31Deus viu tudo o que havia feito, e eis que era muito bom. Houve tarde e houve manhã, o sexto dia.

1In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth.

2The earth was formless and empty. Darkness was on the surface of the deep and God’s Spirit was hovering over the surface of the waters.

3God said, “Let there be light,” and there was light.

4God saw the light, and saw that it was good. God divided the light from the darkness.

5God called the light “day”, and the darkness he called “night”. There was evening and there was morning, the first day.

6God said, “Let there be an expanse in the middle of the waters, and let it divide the waters from the waters.”

7God made the expanse, and divided the waters which were under the expanse from the waters which were above the expanse; and it was so.

8God called the expanse “sky”. There was evening and there was morning, a second day.

9God said, “Let the waters under the sky be gathered together to one place, and let the dry land appear;” and it was so.

10God called the dry land “earth”, and the gathering together of the waters he called “seas”. God saw that it was good.

11God said, “Let the earth yield grass, herbs yielding seeds, and fruit trees bearing fruit after their kind, with their seeds in it, on the earth;” and it was so.

12The earth yielded grass, herbs yielding seed after their kind, and trees bearing fruit, with their seeds in it, after their kind; and God saw that it was good.

13There was evening and there was morning, a third day.

14God said, “Let there be lights in the expanse of the sky to divide the day from the night; and let them be for signs to mark seasons, days, and years;

15and let them be for lights in the expanse of the sky to give light on the earth;” and it was so.

16God made the two great lights: the greater light to rule the day, and the lesser light to rule the night. He also made the stars.

17God set them in the expanse of the sky to give light to the earth,

18and to rule over the day and over the night, and to divide the light from the darkness. God saw that it was good.

19There was evening and there was morning, a fourth day.

20God said, “Let the waters abound with living creatures, and let birds fly above the earth in the open expanse of the sky.”

21God created the large sea creatures and every living creature that moves, with which the waters swarmed, after their kind, and every winged bird after its kind. God saw that it was good.

22God blessed them, saying, “Be fruitful, and multiply, and fill the waters in the seas, and let birds multiply on the earth.”

23There was evening and there was morning, a fifth day.

24God said, “Let the earth produce living creatures after their kind, livestock, creeping things, and animals of the earth after their kind;” and it was so.

25God made the animals of the earth after their kind, and the livestock after their kind, and everything that creeps on the ground after its kind. God saw that it was good.

26God said, “Let’s make man in our image, after our likeness. Let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the birds of the sky, and over the livestock, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth.”

27God created man in his own image. In God’s image he created him; male and female he created them.

28God blessed them. God said to them, “Be fruitful, multiply, fill the earth, and subdue it. Have dominion over the fish of the sea, over the birds of the sky, and over every living thing that moves on the earth.”

29God said, “Behold, I have given you every herb yielding seed, which is on the surface of all the earth, and every tree, which bears fruit yielding seed. It will be your food.

30To every animal of the earth, and to every bird of the sky, and to everything that creeps on the earth, in which there is life, I have given every green herb for food;” and it was so.

31God saw everything that he had made, and, behold, it was very good. There was evening and there was morning, a sixth day.
