Êxodo 7— comparação

1O SENHOR disse a Moisés: “Eis que o fiz como Deus para o faraó; e Arão, seu irmão, será o seu profeta.

2Você falará tudo o que eu lhe ordenar; e Arão, seu irmão, falará ao faraó, para que ele deixe os filhos de Israel saírem da sua terra.

3Eu endurecerei o coração do faraó, e multiplicarei os meus sinais e as minhas maravilhas na terra do Egito.

4Mas o faraó não os ouvirá, então porei a minha mão sobre o Egito, e tirarei os meus exércitos, o meu povo, os filhos de Israel, da terra do Egito com grandes juízos.

5Os egípcios saberão que eu sou o SENHOR quando eu estender a minha mão sobre o Egito, e tirar os filhos de Israel do meio deles.”

6Moisés e Arão fizeram assim. Como o SENHOR lhes ordenou, assim eles fizeram.

7Moisés tinha oitenta anos de idade, e Arão oitenta e três anos de idade, quando falaram ao faraó.

8O SENHOR falou a Moisés e a Arão, dizendo:

9“Quando o faraó falar com vocês, dizendo: 'Façam um milagre!', então você dirá a Arão: 'Pegue a sua vara, e jogue-a diante do faraó, e ela se tornará uma serpente'.”

10Moisés e Arão entraram na presença do faraó, e fizeram assim, como o SENHOR havia ordenado. Arão jogou a sua vara diante do faraó e diante dos seus servos, e ela se tornou uma serpente.

11Então o faraó também chamou os sábios e os feiticeiros. Eles também, os magos do Egito, fizeram a mesma coisa com os seus encantamentos.

12Pois cada um deles jogou a sua vara, e elas se tornaram serpentes; mas a vara de Arão engoliu as varas deles.

13O coração do faraó se endureceu, e ele não os ouviu, como o SENHOR tinha falado.

14O SENHOR disse a Moisés: “O coração do faraó está obstinado. Ele se recusa a deixar o povo ir.

15Vá ao faraó pela manhã. Eis que ele sairá às águas. Você ficará na margem do rio para encontrá-lo. Você levará na sua mão a vara que se transformou em serpente.

16Você dirá a ele: 'O SENHOR, o Deus dos hebreus, me enviou a você, dizendo: “Deixe o meu povo ir, para que me sirva no deserto. Eis que até agora você não tem ouvido.”

17Assim diz o SENHOR: “Nisto você saberá que eu sou o SENHOR. Eis que ferirei com a vara que está na minha mão as águas que estão no rio, e elas se tornarão em sangue.

18Os peixes que estão no rio morrerão e o rio cheirará mal. Os egípcios terão nojo de beber a água do rio.”’”

19O SENHOR disse a Moisés: “Diga a Arão: 'Pegue a sua vara, e estenda a sua mão sobre as águas do Egito, sobre os seus rios, sobre os seus canais, sobre os seus lagos, e sobre todos os seus reservatórios de água, para que se tornem em sangue. Haverá sangue por toda a terra do Egito, tanto em vasilhas de madeira quanto em vasilhas de pedra'.”

20Moisés e Arão fizeram assim, como o SENHOR ordenou; e ele levantou a vara, e feriu as águas que estavam no rio, à vista do faraó, e à vista dos seus servos; e todas as águas que estavam no rio se tornaram em sangue.

21Os peixes que estavam no rio morreram. O rio cheirou mal. Os egípcios não conseguiam beber a água do rio. O sangue estava por toda a terra do Egito.

22Os magos do Egito fizeram a mesma coisa com os seus encantamentos. Assim o coração do faraó se endureceu, e ele não os ouviu, como o SENHOR tinha falado.

23O faraó virou-se e foi para a sua casa, e nem mesmo levou isso ao coração.

24Todos os egípcios cavaram ao redor do rio em busca de água para beber; pois não conseguiam beber a água do rio.

25Sete dias se cumpriram, depois que o SENHOR feriu o rio.

1Yahweh said to Moses, “Behold, I have made you as God to Pharaoh; and Aaron your brother shall be your prophet.

2You shall speak all that I command you; and Aaron your brother shall speak to Pharaoh, that he let the children of Israel go out of his land.

3I will harden Pharaoh’s heart, and multiply my signs and my wonders in the land of Egypt.

4But Pharaoh will not listen to you, so I will lay my hand on Egypt, and bring out my armies, my people the children of Israel, out of the land of Egypt by great judgments.

5The Egyptians shall know that I am Yahweh when I stretch out my hand on Egypt, and bring the children of Israel out from among them.”

6Moses and Aaron did so. As Yahweh commanded them, so they did.

7Moses was eighty years old, and Aaron eighty-three years old, when they spoke to Pharaoh.

8Yahweh spoke to Moses and to Aaron, saying,

9“When Pharaoh speaks to you, saying, ‘Perform a miracle!’ then you shall tell Aaron, ‘Take your rod, and cast it down before Pharaoh, and it will become a serpent.’”

10Moses and Aaron went in to Pharaoh, and they did so, as Yahweh had commanded. Aaron cast down his rod before Pharaoh and before his servants, and it became a serpent.

11Then Pharaoh also called for the wise men and the sorcerers. They also, the magicians of Egypt, did the same thing with their enchantments.

12For they each cast down their rods, and they became serpents; but Aaron’s rod swallowed up their rods.

13Pharaoh’s heart was hardened, and he didn’t listen to them, as Yahweh had spoken.

14Yahweh said to Moses, “Pharaoh’s heart is stubborn. He refuses to let the people go.

15Go to Pharaoh in the morning. Behold, he is going out to the water. You shall stand by the river’s bank to meet him. You shall take the rod which was turned to a serpent in your hand.

16You shall tell him, ‘Yahweh, the God of the Hebrews, has sent me to you, saying, “Let my people go, that they may serve me in the wilderness. Behold, until now you haven’t listened.”

17Yahweh says, “In this you shall know that I am Yahweh. Behold: I will strike with the rod that is in my hand on the waters which are in the river, and they shall be turned to blood.

18The fish that are in the river will die and the river will become foul. The Egyptians will loathe to drink water from the river.”’”

19Yahweh said to Moses, “Tell Aaron, ‘Take your rod, and stretch out your hand over the waters of Egypt, over their rivers, over their streams, and over their pools, and over all their ponds of water, that they may become blood. There will be blood throughout all the land of Egypt, both in vessels of wood and in vessels of stone.’”

20Moses and Aaron did so, as Yahweh commanded; and he lifted up the rod, and struck the waters that were in the river, in the sight of Pharaoh, and in the sight of his servants; and all the waters that were in the river were turned to blood.

21The fish that were in the river died. The river became foul. The Egyptians couldn’t drink water from the river. The blood was throughout all the land of Egypt.

22The magicians of Egypt did the same thing with their enchantments. So Pharaoh’s heart was hardened, and he didn’t listen to them, as Yahweh had spoken.

23Pharaoh turned and went into his house, and he didn’t even take this to heart.

24All the Egyptians dug around the river for water to drink; for they couldn’t drink the river water.

25Seven days were fulfilled, after Yahweh had struck the river.
