Deuteronômio 34— comparação

1Moisés subiu das campinas de Moabe ao monte Nebo, ao topo de Pisga, que fica em frente a Jericó. O SENHOR lhe mostrou toda a terra de Gileade até Dã,

2e todo o Naftali, e a terra de Efraim e Manassés, e toda a terra de Judá, até o mar Ocidental,

3e o sul, e a planície do vale de Jericó, a cidade das palmeiras, até Zoar.

4O SENHOR lhe disse: “Esta é a terra que jurei a Abraão, a Isaque e a Jacó, dizendo: ‘Eu a darei à sua descendência.’ Eu fiz com que você a visse com os seus olhos, mas você não atravessará para lá.”

5Assim Moisés, o servo do SENHOR, morreu ali na terra de Moabe, de acordo com a palavra do SENHOR.

6Ele o sepultou no vale, na terra de Moabe, em frente a Bete-Peor, mas ninguém sabe onde fica o seu túmulo até o dia de hoje.

7Moisés tinha cento e vinte anos de idade quando morreu. Seus olhos não haviam escurecido, nem o seu vigor havia se esvaído.

8Os filhos de Israel choraram por Moisés nas campinas de Moabe por trinta dias, até que os dias de choro no luto por Moisés terminaram.

9Josué, filho de Num, estava cheio do espírito de sabedoria, pois Moisés havia imposto as suas mãos sobre ele. Os filhos de Israel o ouviram, e fizeram como o SENHOR havia ordenado a Moisés.

10Desde então, nunca mais se levantou em Israel um profeta como Moisés, a quem o SENHOR conheceu face a face,

11em todos os sinais e maravilhas que o SENHOR o enviou para fazer na terra do Egito, a Faraó, a todos os seus servos e a toda a sua terra,

12e em toda a mão poderosa, e em todos os feitos temíveis que Moisés realizou à vista de todo o Israel.

1Moses went up from the plains of Moab to Mount Nebo, to the top of Pisgah, that is opposite Jericho. Yahweh showed him all the land of Gilead to Dan,

2and all Naphtali, and the land of Ephraim and Manasseh, and all the land of Judah, to the Western Sea,

3and the south, and the Plain of the valley of Jericho the city of palm trees, to Zoar.

4Yahweh said to him, “This is the land which I swore to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob, saying, ‘I will give it to your offspring.’ I have caused you to see it with your eyes, but you shall not go over there.”

5So Moses the servant of Yahweh died there in the land of Moab, according to Yahweh’s word.

6He buried him in the valley in the land of Moab opposite Beth Peor, but no man knows where his tomb is to this day.

7Moses was one hundred twenty years old when he died. His eye was not dim, nor his strength gone.

8The children of Israel wept for Moses in the plains of Moab thirty days, until the days of weeping in the mourning for Moses were ended.

9Joshua the son of Nun was full of the spirit of wisdom, for Moses had laid his hands on him. The children of Israel listened to him, and did as Yahweh commanded Moses.

10Since then, there has not arisen a prophet in Israel like Moses, whom Yahweh knew face to face,

11in all the signs and the wonders which Yahweh sent him to do in the land of Egypt, to Pharaoh, and to all his servants, and to all his land,

12and in all the mighty hand, and in all the awesome deeds, which Moses did in the sight of all Israel.
