Deuteronômio 30— comparação

1Acontecerá que, quando todas estas coisas vierem sobre você, a bênção e a maldição que coloquei diante de você, e você as trouxer à memória entre todas as nações para onde o SENHOR, o seu Deus, o tiver expulsado,

2e você se voltar para o SENHOR, o seu Deus, e obedecer à sua voz conforme tudo o que hoje lhe ordeno, você e seus filhos, de todo o seu coração e de toda a sua alma,

3então o SENHOR, o seu Deus, o libertará do cativeiro, terá compaixão de você, e voltará e o reunirá de todos os povos por onde o SENHOR, o seu Deus, o tiver espalhado.

4Mesmo que os seus exilados estejam nas extremidades dos céus, de lá o SENHOR, o seu Deus, o reunirá, e de lá o trará de volta.

5O SENHOR, o seu Deus, o trará para a terra que os seus pais possuíram, e você a possuirá. Ele lhe fará o bem e aumentará o seu número mais do que o dos seus pais.

6O SENHOR, o seu Deus, circuncidará o seu coração e o coração da sua descendência, para que você ame o SENHOR, o seu Deus, de todo o seu coração e de toda a sua alma, para que você viva.

7O SENHOR, o seu Deus, colocará todas estas maldições sobre os seus inimigos e sobre aqueles que o odeiam, que o perseguiram.

8Você voltará e obedecerá à voz do SENHOR, e cumprirá todos os seus mandamentos que hoje lhe ordeno.

9O SENHOR, o seu Deus, o fará próspero em todo o trabalho das suas mãos, no fruto do seu ventre, no fruto do seu rebanho e no fruto da sua terra, para o seu bem; pois o SENHOR voltará a se alegrar em você para o seu bem, assim como se alegrou em seus pais,

10se você obedecer à voz do SENHOR, o seu Deus, para guardar os seus mandamentos e os seus estatutos que estão escritos neste livro da lei, e se você se voltar para o SENHOR, o seu Deus, de todo o seu coração e de toda a sua alma.

11Pois este mandamento que hoje lhe ordeno não é difícil demais para você, nem está longe demais.

12Não está no céu, para que você diga: “Quem subirá por nós ao céu, para trazê-lo a nós e proclamá-lo a nós, para que possamos cumpri-lo?”

13Nem está além do mar, para que você diga: “Quem atravessará o mar por nós, para trazê-lo a nós e proclamá-lo a nós, para que possamos cumpri-lo?”

14Mas a palavra está muito perto de você, na sua boca e no seu coração, para que você possa cumpri-la.

15Eis que hoje coloquei diante de você a vida e a prosperidade, a morte e o mal.

16Pois hoje lhe ordeno que ame o SENHOR, o seu Deus, que ande nos seus caminhos e que guarde os seus mandamentos, os seus estatutos e as suas ordenanças, para que você viva e se multiplique, e para que o SENHOR, o seu Deus, o abençoe na terra em que você está entrando para possuí-la.

17Mas se o seu coração se desviar, e você não quiser ouvir, mas for atraído para adorar outros deuses e servi-los,

18eu declaro a você hoje que você certamente perecerá. Você não prolongará os seus dias na terra para a qual está atravessando o Jordão, a fim de entrar e possuí-la.

19Hoje chamo os céus e a terra como testemunhas contra você, de que coloquei diante de você a vida e a morte, a bênção e a maldição. Portanto, escolha a vida, para que você viva, você e os seus descendentes,

20amando o SENHOR, o seu Deus, obedecendo à sua voz e apegando-se a ele; pois ele é a sua vida e a longevidade dos seus dias, para que você habite na terra que o SENHOR jurou dar aos seus pais, a Abraão, a Isaque e a Jacó.

1It shall happen, when all these things have come on you, the blessing and the curse, which I have set before you, and you shall call them to mind among all the nations where Yahweh your God has driven you,

2and return to Yahweh your God and obey his voice according to all that I command you today, you and your children, with all your heart and with all your soul,

3that then Yahweh your God will release you from captivity, have compassion on you, and will return and gather you from all the peoples where Yahweh your God has scattered you.

4If your outcasts are in the uttermost parts of the heavens, from there Yahweh your God will gather you, and from there he will bring you back.

5Yahweh your God will bring you into the land which your fathers possessed, and you will possess it. He will do you good, and increase your numbers more than your fathers.

6Yahweh your God will circumcise your heart, and the heart of your offspring, to love Yahweh your God with all your heart and with all your soul, that you may live.

7Yahweh your God will put all these curses on your enemies and on those who hate you, who persecuted you.

8You shall return and obey Yahweh’s voice, and do all his commandments which I command you today.

9Yahweh your God will make you prosperous in all the work of your hand, in the fruit of your body, in the fruit of your livestock, and in the fruit of your ground, for good; for Yahweh will again rejoice over you for good, as he rejoiced over your fathers,

10if you will obey Yahweh your God’s voice, to keep his commandments and his statutes which are written in this book of the law, if you turn to Yahweh your God with all your heart and with all your soul.

11For this commandment which I command you today is not too hard for you or too distant.

12It is not in heaven, that you should say, “Who will go up for us to heaven, bring it to us, and proclaim it to us, that we may do it?”

13Neither is it beyond the sea, that you should say, “Who will go over the sea for us, bring it to us, and proclaim it to us, that we may do it?”

14But the word is very near to you, in your mouth and in your heart, that you may do it.

15Behold, I have set before you today life and prosperity, and death and evil.

16For I command you today to love Yahweh your God, to walk in his ways and to keep his commandments, his statutes, and his ordinances, that you may live and multiply, and that Yahweh your God may bless you in the land where you go in to possess it.

17But if your heart turns away, and you will not hear, but are drawn away and worship other gods, and serve them,

18I declare to you today that you will surely perish. You will not prolong your days in the land where you pass over the Jordan to go in to possess it.

19I call heaven and earth to witness against you today that I have set before you life and death, the blessing and the curse. Therefore choose life, that you may live, you and your descendants,

20to love Yahweh your God, to obey his voice, and to cling to him; for he is your life, and the length of your days, that you may dwell in the land which Yahweh swore to your fathers, to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob, to give them.
