2 Reis 24— comparação

1Em seus dias, Nabucodonosor, rei da Babilônia, subiu, e Jeoaquim tornou-se seu servo por três anos. Depois, ele se voltou e se rebelou contra ele.

2O SENHOR enviou contra ele bandos de caldeus, bandos de sírios, bandos de moabitas e bandos dos filhos de Amom, e os enviou contra Judá para destruí-lo, de acordo com a palavra do SENHOR que ele falou por meio de seus servos, os profetas.

3Certamente por ordem do SENHOR isso veio sobre Judá, para removê-los de sua presença por causa dos pecados de Manassés, de acordo com tudo o que ele fez,

4e também pelo sangue inocente que ele derramou; pois ele encheu Jerusalém de sangue inocente, e o SENHOR não quis perdoar.

5Ora, o restante dos atos de Jeoaquim, e tudo o que ele fez, não estão escritos no livro das crônicas dos reis de Judá?

6Então Jeoaquim descansou com seus pais, e Joaquim, seu filho, reinou em seu lugar.

7O rei do Egito não saiu mais de sua terra; pois o rei da Babilônia havia tomado, desde o ribeiro do Egito até o rio Eufrates, tudo o que pertencia ao rei do Egito.

8Joaquim tinha dezoito anos de idade quando começou a reinar, e reinou em Jerusalém por três meses. O nome de sua mãe era Neústa, filha de Elnatã, de Jerusalém.

9Ele fez o que era mau aos olhos do SENHOR, de acordo com tudo o que seu pai havia feito.

10Naquele tempo, os servos de Nabucodonosor, rei da Babilônia, subiram a Jerusalém, e a cidade foi sitiada.

11Nabucodonosor, rei da Babilônia, chegou à cidade enquanto seus servos a sitiavam,

12e Joaquim, o rei de Judá, saiu ao encontro do rei da Babilônia — ele, sua mãe, seus servos, seus príncipes e seus oficiais; e o rei da Babilônia o capturou no oitavo ano de seu reinado.

13Ele levou dali todos os tesouros da casa do SENHOR e os tesouros da casa do rei, e despedaçou todos os utensílios de ouro que Salomão, rei de Israel, havia feito no templo do SENHOR, como o SENHOR havia dito.

14Ele levou cativa toda a Jerusalém, todos os príncipes e todos os guerreiros valentes, dez mil cativos ao todo, além de todos os artesãos e ferreiros. Ninguém restou, exceto as pessoas mais pobres da terra.

15Ele levou Joaquim cativo para a Babilônia, com a mãe do rei, as esposas do rei, seus oficiais e os homens principais da terra. Ele os levou em cativeiro de Jerusalém para a Babilônia.

16Todos os homens valentes, sete mil ao todo, e os artesãos e ferreiros, mil ao todo, todos eles fortes e aptos para a guerra, o rei da Babilônia os levou cativos para a Babilônia.

17O rei da Babilônia fez de Matanias, irmão do pai de Joaquim, rei em seu lugar, e mudou seu nome para Zedequias.

18Zedequias tinha vinte e um anos de idade quando começou a reinar, e reinou onze anos em Jerusalém. O nome de sua mãe era Hamutal, filha de Jeremias, de Libna.

19Ele fez o que era mau aos olhos do SENHOR, de acordo com tudo o que Jeoaquim havia feito.

20Pois, por causa da ira do SENHOR, isso aconteceu em Jerusalém e em Judá, até que ele os expulsou de sua presença.

1In his days Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon came up, and Jehoiakim became his servant for three years. Then he turned and rebelled against him.

2Yahweh sent against him bands of the Chaldeans, bands of the Syrians, bands of the Moabites, and bands of the children of Ammon, and sent them against Judah to destroy it, according to Yahweh’s word which he spoke by his servants the prophets.

3Surely at the commandment of Yahweh this came on Judah, to remove them out of his sight for the sins of Manasseh, according to all that he did,

4and also for the innocent blood that he shed; for he filled Jerusalem with innocent blood, and Yahweh would not pardon.

5Now the rest of the acts of Jehoiakim, and all that he did, aren’t they written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Judah?

6So Jehoiakim slept with his fathers, and Jehoiachin his son reigned in his place.

7The king of Egypt didn’t come out of his land any more; for the king of Babylon had taken, from the brook of Egypt to the river Euphrates, all that belonged to the king of Egypt.

8Jehoiachin was eighteen years old when he began to reign, and he reigned in Jerusalem three months. His mother’s name was Nehushta the daughter of Elnathan of Jerusalem.

9He did that which was evil in Yahweh’s sight, according to all that his father had done.

10At that time the servants of Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon came up to Jerusalem, and the city was besieged.

11Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon came to the city while his servants were besieging it,

12and Jehoiachin the king of Judah went out to the king of Babylon—he, his mother, his servants, his princes, and his officers; and the king of Babylon captured him in the eighth year of his reign.

13He carried out from there all the treasures of Yahweh’s house and the treasures of the king’s house, and cut in pieces all the vessels of gold which Solomon king of Israel had made in Yahweh’s temple, as Yahweh had said.

14He carried away all Jerusalem, and all the princes, and all the mighty men of valor, even ten thousand captives, and all the craftsmen and the smiths. No one remained except the poorest people of the land.

15He carried away Jehoiachin to Babylon, with the king’s mother, the king’s wives, his officers, and the chief men of the land. He carried them into captivity from Jerusalem to Babylon.

16All the men of might, even seven thousand, and the craftsmen and the smiths one thousand, all of them strong and fit for war, even them the king of Babylon brought captive to Babylon.

17The king of Babylon made Mattaniah, Jehoiachin’s father’s brother, king in his place, and changed his name to Zedekiah.

18Zedekiah was twenty-one years old when he began to reign, and he reigned eleven years in Jerusalem. His mother’s name was Hamutal the daughter of Jeremiah of Libnah.

19He did that which was evil in Yahweh’s sight, according to all that Jehoiakim had done.

20For through the anger of Yahweh, this happened in Jerusalem and Judah, until he had cast them out from his presence. Then Zedekiah rebelled against the king of Babylon.
