1Quando a rainha de Sabá ouviu da fama de Salomão, ela veio a Jerusalém para testar Salomão com perguntas difíceis, com uma caravana muito grande, incluindo camelos que carregavam especiarias, ouro em abundância e pedras preciosas. Quando ela chegou a Salomão, falou com ele sobre tudo o que estava em seu coração.

2Salomão respondeu a todas as suas perguntas. Não houve nada oculto para Salomão que ele não lhe dissesse.

3Quando a rainha de Sabá viu a sabedoria de Salomão, a casa que ele havia construído,

4a comida da sua mesa, os lugares dos seus servos, o serviço dos seus ministros e as suas roupas, os seus copeiros e as suas roupas, e a subida pela qual ele ia à casa do SENHOR, não houve mais espírito nela.

5Ela disse ao rei: “Foi verdadeiro o relato que ouvi na minha própria terra sobre os seus feitos e sobre a sua sabedoria.

6No entanto, eu não acreditei nas palavras deles até que vim, e os meus olhos viram; e eis que não me contaram a metade da grandeza da sua sabedoria. Você supera a fama que ouvi!

7Felizes são os seus homens, e felizes são estes seus servos, que estão continuamente diante de você e ouvem a sua sabedoria.

8Bendito seja o SENHOR, seu Deus, que se agradou de você e o colocou no seu trono para ser rei pelo SENHOR, seu Deus, porque o seu Deus amou a Israel, para estabelecê-los para sempre. Portanto, ele o fez rei sobre eles, para fazer justiça e retidão.”

9Ela deu ao rei cento e vinte talentos de ouro, especiarias em grande abundância e pedras preciosas. Nunca antes houve especiarias como as que a rainha de Sabá deu ao rei Salomão.

10Os servos de Hurão e os servos de Salomão, que trouxeram ouro de Ofir, também trouxeram árvores de algum e pedras preciosas.

11O rei usou a madeira das árvores de algum para fazer passadiços para a casa do SENHOR e para a casa do rei, e harpas e instrumentos de cordas para os cantores. Nunca antes se viu algo semelhante na terra de Judá.

12O rei Salomão deu à rainha de Sabá tudo o que ela desejou, tudo o que ela pediu, mais do que ela havia trazido ao rei. Então ela se virou e foi para a sua própria terra, ela e os seus servos.

13Ora, o peso do ouro que vinha a Salomão em um ano era de seiscentos e sessenta e seis talentos de ouro,

14além do que os mercadores e comerciantes traziam. Todos os reis da Arábia e os governadores do país traziam ouro e prata a Salomão.

15O rei Salomão fez duzentos escudos grandes de ouro batido. Seiscentos siclos de ouro batido foram usados para cada escudo grande.

16Ele fez trezentos escudos de ouro batido. Trezentos siclos de ouro foram usados para cada escudo. O rei os colocou na Casa da Floresta do Líbano.

17Além disso, o rei fez um grande trono de marfim e o revestiu de ouro puro.

18Havia seis degraus para o trono, com um estrado de ouro, que eram fixados ao trono, e braços de ambos os lados junto ao lugar do assento, e dois leões em pé ao lado dos braços.

19Doze leões estavam ali, de um lado e do outro, sobre os seis degraus. Nunca se fez nada igual em nenhum outro reino.

20Todas as taças de beber do rei Salomão eram de ouro, e todos os utensílios da Casa da Floresta do Líbano eram de ouro puro. A prata não era considerada valiosa nos dias de Salomão.

21Pois o rei tinha navios que iam a Társis com os servos de Hurão. Uma vez a cada três anos, os navios de Társis vinham trazendo ouro, prata, marfim, macacos e pavões.

22Assim, o rei Salomão superou todos os reis da terra em riquezas e sabedoria.

23Todos os reis da terra buscavam a presença de Salomão para ouvir a sua sabedoria, que Deus havia colocado em seu coração.

24Cada um deles trazia tributo: utensílios de prata, utensílios de ouro, roupas, armaduras, especiarias, cavalos e mulas, todos os anos.

25Salomão tinha quatro mil estábulos para cavalos e carruagens, e doze mil cavaleiros que ele posicionou nas cidades das carruagens e com o rei em Jerusalém.

26Ele governou sobre todos os reis, desde o Rio até a terra dos filisteus, e até a fronteira do Egito.

27O rei tornou a prata tão comum em Jerusalém quanto as pedras, e fez com que os cedros fossem tão abundantes quanto os sicômoros que estão na baixada.

28Traziam cavalos para Salomão do Egito e de todas as terras.

29Ora, os demais atos de Salomão, desde os primeiros até os últimos, não estão escritos na história do profeta Natã, e na profecia de Aías, o silonita, e nas visões de Ido, o vidente, a respeito de Jeroboão, filho de Nebate?

30Salomão reinou em Jerusalém sobre todo o Israel por quarenta anos.

31Salomão descansou com os seus pais, e foi sepultado na cidade de Davi, seu pai; e Roboão, seu filho, reinou em seu lugar.

1When the queen of Sheba heard of the fame of Solomon, she came to test Solomon with hard questions at Jerusalem, with a very great caravan, including camels that bore spices, gold in abundance, and precious stones. When she had come to Solomon, she talked with him about all that was in her heart.

2Solomon answered all her questions. There wasn’t anything hidden from Solomon which he didn’t tell her.

3When the queen of Sheba had seen the wisdom of Solomon, the house that he had built,

4the food of his table, the seating of his servants, the attendance of his ministers, their clothing, his cup bearers and their clothing, and his ascent by which he went up to Yahweh’s house, there was no more spirit in her.

5She said to the king, “It was a true report that I heard in my own land of your acts and of your wisdom.

6However I didn’t believe their words until I came, and my eyes had seen it; and behold half of the greatness of your wisdom wasn’t told me. You exceed the fame that I heard!

7Happy are your men, and happy are these your servants, who stand continually before you and hear your wisdom.

8Blessed be Yahweh your God, who delighted in you and set you on his throne to be king for Yahweh your God, because your God loved Israel, to establish them forever. Therefore he made you king over them, to do justice and righteousness.”

9She gave the king one hundred and twenty talents of gold, spices in great abundance, and precious stones. There was never before such spice as the queen of Sheba gave to King Solomon.

10The servants of Huram and the servants of Solomon, who brought gold from Ophir, also brought algum trees and precious stones.

11The king used algum tree wood to make terraces for Yahweh’s house and for the king’s house, and harps and stringed instruments for the singers. There were none like these seen before in the land of Judah.

12King Solomon gave to the queen of Sheba all her desire, whatever she asked, more than that which she had brought to the king. So she turned and went to her own land, she and her servants.

13Now the weight of gold that came to Solomon in one year was six hundred sixty-six talents of gold,

14in addition to that which the traders and merchants brought. All the kings of Arabia and the governors of the country brought gold and silver to Solomon.

15King Solomon made two hundred large shields of beaten gold. Six hundred shekels of beaten gold went to one large shield.

16He made three hundred shields of beaten gold. Three hundred shekels of gold went to one shield. The king put them in the House of the Forest of Lebanon.

17Moreover the king made a great throne of ivory, and overlaid it with pure gold.

18There were six steps to the throne, with a footstool of gold, which were fastened to the throne, and armrests on either side by the place of the seat, and two lions standing beside the armrests.

19Twelve lions stood there on the one side and on the other on the six steps. There was nothing like it made in any other kingdom.

20All King Solomon’s drinking vessels were of gold, and all the vessels of the House of the Forest of Lebanon were of pure gold. Silver was not considered valuable in the days of Solomon.

21For the king had ships that went to Tarshish with Huram’s servants. Once every three years, the ships of Tarshish came bringing gold, silver, ivory, apes, and peacocks.

22So King Solomon exceeded all the kings of the earth in riches and wisdom.

23All the kings of the earth sought the presence of Solomon to hear his wisdom, which God had put in his heart.

24They each brought tribute: vessels of silver, vessels of gold, clothing, armor, spices, horses, and mules every year.

25Solomon had four thousand stalls for horses and chariots, and twelve thousand horsemen that he stationed in the chariot cities and with the king at Jerusalem.

26He ruled over all the kings from the River even to the land of the Philistines, and to the border of Egypt.

27The king made silver as common in Jerusalem as stones, and he made cedars to be as abundant as the sycamore trees that are in the lowland.

28They brought horses for Solomon out of Egypt and out of all lands.

29Now the rest of the acts of Solomon, first and last, aren’t they written in the history of Nathan the prophet, and in the prophecy of Ahijah the Shilonite, and in the visions of Iddo the seer concerning Jeroboam the son of Nebat?

30Solomon reigned in Jerusalem over all Israel forty years.

31Solomon slept with his fathers, and he was buried in his father David’s city; and Rehoboam his son reigned in his place.
