1Ao fim de vinte anos, nos quais Salomão tinha edificado a casa do SENHOR e a sua própria casa,

2Salomão edificou as cidades que Hurão lhe tinha dado, e fez com que os filhos de Israel habitassem nelas.

3Salomão foi a Hamate-Zobá e prevaleceu contra ela.

4Ele edificou Tadmor no deserto, e todas as cidades-armazém, que ele edificou em Hamate.

5Ele também edificou Bete-Horom, a alta, e Bete-Horom, a baixa, cidades fortificadas com muros, portas e trancas;

6e Baalate, e todas as cidades-armazém que Salomão tinha, e todas as cidades para os seus carros, as cidades para os seus cavaleiros, e tudo o que Salomão desejou edificar para o seu prazer em Jerusalém, no Líbano, e em toda a terra do seu domínio.

7Quanto a todo o povo que restou dos heteus, dos amorreus, dos ferezeus, dos heveus e dos jebuseus, que não eram de Israel—

8dos seus filhos que restaram depois deles na terra, aos quais os filhos de Israel não exterminaram—destes Salomão recrutou trabalhadores forçados, até o dia de hoje.

9Mas dos filhos de Israel, Salomão não fez escravos para a sua obra; porém eles eram homens de guerra, chefes dos seus capitães, e comandantes dos seus carros e dos seus cavaleiros.

10Estes eram os principais oficiais do rei Salomão, duzentos e cinquenta, que governavam sobre o povo.

11Salomão fez subir a filha de Faraó da Cidade de Davi para a casa que ele tinha edificado para ela; pois ele disse: “Minha esposa não habitará na casa de Davi, rei de Israel, porque os lugares onde a arca do SENHOR entrou são santos.”

12Então Salomão ofereceu holocaustos ao SENHOR sobre o altar do SENHOR que ele tinha edificado diante do pórtico,

13conforme a exigência de cada dia, oferecendo segundo o mandamento de Moisés, nos sábados, nas luas novas e nas festas fixas, três vezes ao ano: na Festa dos Pães Asmos, na Festa das Semanas e na Festa dos Tabernáculos.

14Ele designou, segundo a ordem de Davi, seu pai, os turnos dos sacerdotes para o seu serviço, e os levitas para os seus cargos, para louvarem e ministrarem diante dos sacerdotes, conforme a exigência de cada dia; e também os porteiros pelos seus turnos a cada porta, pois Davi, o homem de Deus, assim o tinha ordenado.

15Eles não se desviaram do mandamento do rei aos sacerdotes e aos levitas a respeito de qualquer assunto, nem a respeito dos tesouros.

16Ora, toda a obra de Salomão foi realizada desde o dia da fundação da casa do SENHOR até que foi terminada. Assim a casa do SENHOR foi concluída.

17Então Salomão foi a Eziom-Geber e a Elote, na costa do mar, na terra de Edom.

18Hurão enviou-lhe, por meio dos seus servos, navios e servos que tinham conhecimento do mar; e eles foram com os servos de Salomão a Ofir, e trouxeram de lá quatrocentos e cinquenta talentos de ouro, e os trouxeram ao rei Salomão.

1At the end of twenty years, in which Solomon had built Yahweh’s house and his own house,

2Solomon built the cities which Huram had given to Solomon, and caused the children of Israel to dwell there.

3Solomon went to Hamath Zobah, and prevailed against it.

4He built Tadmor in the wilderness, and all the storage cities, which he built in Hamath.

5Also he built Beth Horon the upper and Beth Horon the lower, fortified cities with walls, gates, and bars;

6and Baalath, and all the storage cities that Solomon had, and all the cities for his chariots, the cities for his horsemen, and all that Solomon desired to build for his pleasure in Jerusalem, in Lebanon, and in all the land of his dominion.

7As for all the people who were left of the Hittites, the Amorites, the Perizzites, the Hivites, and the Jebusites, who were not of Israel—

8of their children who were left after them in the land, whom the children of Israel didn’t consume—of them Solomon conscripted forced labor to this day.

9But of the children of Israel, Solomon made no servants for his work, but they were men of war, chief of his captains, and rulers of his chariots and of his horsemen.

10These were the chief officers of King Solomon, even two-hundred fifty, who ruled over the people.

11Solomon brought up Pharaoh’s daughter out of David’s city to the house that he had built for her; for he said, “My wife shall not dwell in the house of David king of Israel, because the places where Yahweh’s ark has come are holy.”

12Then Solomon offered burnt offerings to Yahweh on Yahweh’s altar which he had built before the porch,

13even as the duty of every day required, offering according to the commandment of Moses on the Sabbaths, on the new moons, and on the set feasts, three times per year, during the feast of unleavened bread, during the feast of weeks, and during the feast of booths.

14He appointed, according to the ordinance of David his father, the divisions of the priests to their service, and the Levites to their offices, to praise and to minister before the priests, as the duty of every day required, the doorkeepers also by their divisions at every gate, for David the man of God had so commanded.

15They didn’t depart from the commandment of the king to the priests and Levites concerning any matter or concerning the treasures.

16Now all the work of Solomon was accomplished from the day of the foundation of Yahweh’s house until it was finished. So Yahweh’s house was completed.

17Then Solomon went to Ezion Geber and to Eloth, on the seashore in the land of Edom.

18Huram sent him ships and servants who had knowledge of the sea by the hands of his servants; and they came with the servants of Solomon to Ophir, and brought from there four hundred fifty talents of gold, and brought them to King Solomon.
