2 Crônicas 1— comparação

1Salomão, filho de Davi, foi firmemente estabelecido em seu reino, e o SENHOR seu Deus estava com ele, e o engrandeceu sobremaneira.

2Salomão falou a todo o Israel, aos comandantes de milhares e de centenas, aos juízes, e a todos os príncipes em todo o Israel, os chefes das casas paternas.

3Então Salomão, e toda a congregação com ele, foram ao lugar alto que estava em Gibeom; pois a Tenda do Encontro de Deus estava lá, a qual Moisés, servo do SENHOR, havia feito no deserto.

4Mas Davi havia trazido a arca de Deus de Quiriate-Jearim para o lugar que Davi havia preparado para ela; pois ele havia armado uma tenda para ela em Jerusalém.

5Além disso, o altar de bronze que Bezalel, filho de Uri, filho de Hur, havia feito estava lá diante do tabernáculo do SENHOR; e Salomão e a congregação buscavam conselho lá.

6Salomão subiu lá ao altar de bronze diante do SENHOR, que estava na Tenda do Encontro, e ofereceu mil holocaustos sobre ele.

7Naquela noite, Deus apareceu a Salomão e lhe disse: “Peça o que você quer que eu lhe dê.”

8Salomão disse a Deus: “O Senhor demonstrou grande bondade a Davi, meu pai, e me fez rei em seu lugar.

9Agora, SENHOR Deus, que a sua promessa a Davi, meu pai, seja confirmada; pois o Senhor me fez rei sobre um povo tão numeroso como o pó da terra.

10Agora me dê sabedoria e conhecimento, para que eu possa sair e entrar diante deste povo; pois quem pode julgar este seu grande povo?”

11Deus disse a Salomão: “Visto que isso estava em seu coração, e você não pediu riquezas, bens, honra, ou a vida daqueles que o odeiam, nem tampouco pediu vida longa; mas pediu sabedoria e conhecimento para si mesmo, para que você possa julgar o meu povo, sobre o qual o fiz rei,

12portanto, sabedoria e conhecimento lhe são concedidos. Eu lhe darei riquezas, bens e honra, como nenhum dos reis que existiram antes de você teve, e nenhum depois de você terá.”

13Então Salomão voltou do lugar alto que estava em Gibeom, de diante da Tenda do Encontro, para Jerusalém; e ele reinou sobre Israel.

14Salomão reuniu carros e cavaleiros. Ele tinha mil e quatrocentos carros e doze mil cavaleiros, que ele colocou nas cidades dos carros, e junto ao rei em Jerusalém.

15O rei tornou a prata e o ouro tão comuns quanto as pedras em Jerusalém, e fez com que os cedros fossem tão comuns quanto os sicômoros que estão na baixada.

16Os cavalos que Salomão tinha eram importados do Egito e de Coa. Os mercadores do rei os compravam de Coa.

17Eles importavam do Egito e então exportavam um carro por seiscentas peças de prata e um cavalo por cento e cinquenta. Eles também os exportavam para os reis heteus e para os reis sírios.

1Solomon the son of David was firmly established in his kingdom, and Yahweh his God was with him, and made him exceedingly great.

2Solomon spoke to all Israel, to the captains of thousands and of hundreds, to the judges, and to every prince in all Israel, the heads of the fathers’ households.

3Then Solomon, and all the assembly with him, went to the high place that was at Gibeon; for God’s Tent of Meeting was there, which Yahweh’s servant Moses had made in the wilderness.

4But David had brought God’s ark up from Kiriath Jearim to the place that David had prepared for it; for he had pitched a tent for it at Jerusalem.

5Moreover the bronze altar that Bezalel the son of Uri, the son of Hur, had made was there before Yahweh’s tabernacle; and Solomon and the assembly were seeking counsel there.

6Solomon went up there to the bronze altar before Yahweh, which was at the Tent of Meeting, and offered one thousand burnt offerings on it.

7That night, God appeared to Solomon and said to him, “Ask for what you want me to give you.”

8Solomon said to God, “You have shown great loving kindness to David my father, and have made me king in his place.

9Now, Yahweh God, let your promise to David my father be established; for you have made me king over a people like the dust of the earth in multitude.

10Now give me wisdom and knowledge, that I may go out and come in before this people; for who can judge this great people of yours?”

11God said to Solomon, “Because this was in your heart, and you have not asked riches, wealth, honor, or the life of those who hate you, nor yet have you asked for long life; but have asked for wisdom and knowledge for yourself, that you may judge my people, over whom I have made you king,

12therefore wisdom and knowledge is granted to you. I will give you riches, wealth, and honor, such as none of the kings have had who have been before you, and none after you will have.”

13So Solomon came from the high place that was at Gibeon, from before the Tent of Meeting, to Jerusalem; and he reigned over Israel.

14Solomon gathered chariots and horsemen. He had one thousand four hundred chariots and twelve thousand horsemen that he placed in the chariot cities, and with the king at Jerusalem.

15The king made silver and gold to be as common as stones in Jerusalem, and he made cedars to be as common as the sycamore trees that are in the lowland.

16The horses which Solomon had were brought out of Egypt and from Kue. The king’s merchants purchased them from Kue.

17They imported from Egypt then exported a chariot for six hundred pieces of silver and a horse for one hundred fifty. They also exported them to the Hittite kings and the Syrian kings.
