2 Coríntios 8— comparação

1Além disso, irmãos, fazemos conhecida a vocês a graça de Deus que foi dada nas igrejas da Macedônia,

2como, em uma severa prova de aflição, a abundância da sua alegria e a sua profunda pobreza transbordaram nas riquezas da sua generosidade.

3Pois dou testemunho de que, segundo a sua capacidade, sim, e além da sua capacidade, eles deram por vontade própria,

4implorando-nos com muita insistência para receber esta graça e a comunhão no serviço aos santos.

5E isso não foi como esperávamos, mas primeiro entregaram a si mesmos ao Senhor, e a nós, pela vontade de Deus.

6De modo que exortamos a Tito que, assim como ele havia começado antes, assim também completasse em vocês esta graça.

7Mas, assim como vocês transbordam em tudo — em fé, em palavra, em conhecimento, em toda dedicação e no amor de vocês por nós —, vejam que também transbordem nesta graça.

8Não falo como um mandamento, mas para comprovar, através da dedicação de outros, a sinceridade também do amor de vocês.

9Pois vocês conhecem a graça de nosso Senhor Jesus Cristo, que, sendo rico, por amor a vocês se fez pobre, para que vocês, por meio da sua pobreza, se tornassem ricos.

10Dou um conselho nisto: é conveniente para vocês, que foram os primeiros a começar há um ano, não apenas a fazer, mas também a querer.

11Mas agora completem também o fazer, para que, assim como houve a prontidão para o querer, assim também haja a conclusão segundo a capacidade de vocês.

12Porque, se há prontidão, isso é aceitável de acordo com o que vocês têm, não de acordo com o que não têm.

13Pois isso não é para que outros tenham alívio e vocês fiquem sobrecarregados,

14mas para que haja igualdade. A abundância de vocês no tempo presente supre a falta deles, para que a abundância deles também se torne um suprimento para a falta de vocês, a fim de que haja igualdade.

15Como está escrito: “Aquele que colheu muito não teve de sobra, e aquele que colheu pouco não teve falta.”

16Mas graças a Deus, que coloca o mesmo cuidado zeloso por vocês no coração de Tito.

17Pois ele, de fato, aceitou a nossa exortação, mas, sendo ele mesmo muito zeloso, foi até vocês por vontade própria.

18Enviamos junto com ele o irmão cujo louvor nas Boas Novas é conhecido em todas as igrejas.

19Não só isso, mas ele também foi designado pelas igrejas para viajar conosco nesta graça, que é ministrada por nós para a glória do próprio Senhor e para mostrar a nossa prontidão.

20Estamos evitando isso, para que ninguém nos culpe em relação a esta abundância que é administrada por nós.

21Tendo o cuidado com o que é honroso, não apenas aos olhos do Senhor, mas também aos olhos dos homens.

22Enviamos com eles o nosso irmão, a quem muitas vezes provamos ser zeloso em muitas coisas, mas agora muito mais zeloso, por causa da grande confiança que ele tem em vocês.

23Quanto a Tito, ele é meu parceiro e cooperador para com vocês. Quanto aos nossos irmãos, eles são os apóstolos das igrejas, a glória de Cristo.

24Portanto, mostrem a eles a prova do amor de vocês perante as igrejas, e do nosso orgulho em favor de vocês.

1Moreover, brothers, we make known to you the grace of God which has been given in the assemblies of Macedonia,

2how in a severe ordeal of affliction, the abundance of their joy and their deep poverty abounded to the riches of their generosity.

3For according to their power, I testify, yes and beyond their power, they gave of their own accord,

4begging us with much entreaty to receive this grace and the fellowship in the service to the saints.

5This was not as we had expected, but first they gave their own selves to the Lord, and to us through the will of God.

6So we urged Titus, that as he had made a beginning before, so he would also complete in you this grace.

7But as you abound in everything—in faith, utterance, knowledge, all earnestness, and in your love to us—see that you also abound in this grace.

8I speak not by way of commandment, but as proving through the earnestness of others the sincerity also of your love.

9For you know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that though he was rich, yet for your sakes he became poor, that you through his poverty might become rich.

10I give advice in this: it is expedient for you who were the first to start a year ago, not only to do, but also to be willing.

11But now complete the doing also, that as there was the readiness to be willing, so there may be the completion also out of your ability.

12For if the readiness is there, it is acceptable according to what you have, not according to what you don’t have.

13For this is not that others may be eased and you distressed,

14but for equality. Your abundance at this present time supplies their lack, that their abundance also may become a supply for your lack, that there may be equality.

15As it is written, “He who gathered much had nothing left over, and he who gathered little had no lack.”

16But thanks be to God, who puts the same earnest care for you into the heart of Titus.

17For he indeed accepted our exhortation, but being himself very earnest, he went out to you of his own accord.

18We have sent together with him the brother whose praise in the Good News is known throughout all the assemblies.

19Not only so, but he was also appointed by the assemblies to travel with us in this grace, which is served by us to the glory of the Lord himself, and to show our readiness.

20We are avoiding this, that any man should blame us concerning this abundance which is administered by us.

21Having regard for honorable things, not only in the sight of the Lord, but also in the sight of men.

22We have sent with them our brother whom we have many times proved earnest in many things, but now much more earnest, by reason of the great confidence which he has in you.

23As for Titus, he is my partner and fellow worker for you. As for our brothers, they are the apostles of the assemblies, the glory of Christ.

24Therefore show the proof of your love to them before the assemblies, and of our boasting on your behalf.
