1Os filhos de Rúben, o primogênito de Israel (pois ele era o primogênito, mas porque profanou o leito de seu pai, seu direito de primogenitura foi dado aos filhos de José, filho de Israel; de modo que a genealogia não é listada de acordo com a primogenitura.

2Pois Judá prevaleceu sobre seus irmãos, e dele veio o príncipe; mas a primogenitura foi de José) —

3os filhos de Rúben, o primogênito de Israel: Enoque, Palu, Hezrom e Carmi.

4Os filhos de Joel: Semaías, seu filho; Gogue, seu filho; Simei, seu filho;

5Mica, seu filho; Reaías, seu filho; Baal, seu filho;

6e Beera, seu filho, a quem Tilgate-Pilneser, rei da Assíria, levou cativo. Ele era príncipe dos rubenitas.

7Seus irmãos, por suas famílias, quando a genealogia de suas gerações foi listada: o chefe, Jeiel, e Zacarias,

8e Bela, filho de Azaz, filho de Sema, filho de Joel, que habitou em Aroer, até Nebo e Baal-Meom;

15Aí, filho de Abdiel, filho de Guni, chefe das casas de seus pais.

16Eles habitaram em Gileade, em Basã e em seus povoados, e em todas as pastagens de Sarom, até as suas fronteiras.

17Todos estes foram listados por genealogias nos dias de Jotão, rei de Judá, e nos dias de Jeroboão, rei de Israel.

18Os filhos de Rúben, os gaditas e a meia tribo de Manassés, de homens valentes, homens capazes de portar escudo e espada, capazes de atirar com o arco e destros na guerra, eram quarenta e quatro mil setecentos e sessenta que podiam sair à guerra.

19Eles fizeram guerra contra os hagarenos, contra Jetur, Nafis e Nodabe.

20Eles receberam ajuda contra eles, e os hagarenos foram entregues em suas mãos, junto com todos os que estavam com eles; pois clamaram a Deus na batalha, e ele os atendeu porque colocaram sua confiança nele.

22Pois muitos caíram mortos, porque a guerra era de Deus. E eles habitaram no lugar deles até o cativeiro.

23Os filhos da meia tribo de Manassés habitaram na terra. Eles se multiplicaram desde Basã até Baal-Hermom, Senir e o monte Hermom.

24Estes foram os chefes das casas de seus pais: Éfer, Isi, Eliel, Azriel, Jeremias, Hodavias e Jadiel — homens valentes e poderosos, homens famosos, chefes das casas de seus pais.

25Eles transgrediram contra o Deus de seus pais, e se prostituíram após os deuses dos povos da terra, os quais Deus havia destruído diante deles.

26Então o Deus de Israel despertou o espírito de Pul, rei da Assíria, e o espírito de Tilgate-Pilneser, rei da Assíria, e ele levou cativos os rubenitas, os gaditas e a meia tribo de Manassés, e os trouxe para Hala, Habor, Hara e para o rio Gozã, até o dia de hoje.

11The sons of Gad lived beside them in the land of Bashan to Salecah:

12Joel the chief, Shapham the second, Janai, and Shaphat in Bashan.

13Their brothers of their fathers’ houses: Michael, Meshullam, Sheba, Jorai, Jacan, Zia, and Eber, seven.

14These were the sons of Abihail, the son of Huri, the son of Jaroah, the son of Gilead, the son of Michael, the son of Jeshishai, the son of Jahdo, the son of Buz;

15Ahi the son of Abdiel, the son of Guni, chief of their fathers’ houses.

16They lived in Gilead in Bashan and in its towns, and in all the pasture lands of Sharon as far as their borders.

17All these were listed by genealogies in the days of Jotham king of Judah, and in the days of Jeroboam king of Israel.

18The sons of Reuben, the Gadites, and the half-tribe of Manasseh, of valiant men, men able to bear buckler and sword, able to shoot with bow, and skillful in war, were forty-four thousand seven hundred sixty that were able to go out to war.

19They made war with the Hagrites, with Jetur, and Naphish, and Nodab.

20They were helped against them, and the Hagrites were delivered into their hand, and all who were with them; for they cried to God in the battle, and he answered them because they put their trust in him.

21They took away their livestock: of their camels fifty thousand, and of sheep two hundred fifty thousand, and of donkeys two thousand, and of men one hundred thousand.

22For many fell slain, because the war was of God. They lived in their place until the captivity.

23The children of the half-tribe of Manasseh lived in the land. They increased from Bashan to Baal Hermon, Senir, and Mount Hermon.

24These were the heads of their fathers’ houses: Epher, Ishi, Eliel, Azriel, Jeremiah, Hodaviah, and Jahdiel—mighty men of valor, famous men, heads of their fathers’ houses.

25They trespassed against the God of their fathers, and played the prostitute after the gods of the peoples of the land whom God destroyed before them.

26So the God of Israel stirred up the spirit of Pul king of Assyria, and the spirit of Tilgath Pilneser king of Assyria, and he carried away the Reubenites, the Gadites, and the half-tribe of Manasseh, and brought them to Halah, Habor, Hara, and to the river of Gozan, to this day.
