1Os filhos de Judá: Perez, Hezrom, Carmi, Hur e Sobal.

2Reaías, filho de Sobal, gerou a Jaate; e Jaate gerou a Aumai e a Laade. Estas são as famílias dos zoratitas.

3Estes foram os filhos do pai de Etã: Jezreel, Isma e Idbas. O nome da irmã deles era Hazelelponi.

4Penuel foi o pai de Gedor, e Ezer o pai de Husá. Estes são os filhos de Hur, o primogênito de Efrata, o pai de Belém.

5Asur, o pai de Tecoa, teve duas esposas, Hela e Naara.

6Naara lhe deu à luz Auzão, Héfer, Temeni e Haastari. Estes foram os filhos de Naara.

7Os filhos de Hela foram Zerete, Izar e Etnã.

8Hacoz gerou a Anube, a Zobeba e às famílias de Aarel, filho de Harum.

9Jabez foi mais ilustre do que seus irmãos. Sua mãe o chamou de Jabez, dizendo: “Porque com dor o dei à luz.”

10Jabez clamou ao Deus de Israel, dizendo: “Ah, se tu me abençoasses de fato, e ampliasses o meu território! Que a tua mão esteja comigo, e que me guardes do mal, para que eu não cause dor!”

11Quelube, irmão de Suá, gerou a Meir, que foi o pai de Estom.

12Estom gerou a Bete-Rafa, a Paseia e a Teína, pai de Ir-Naás. Estes são os homens de Reca.

13Os filhos de Quenaz: Otniel e Seraías. Os filhos de Otniel: Hatate.

14Meonotai gerou a Ofra; e Seraías gerou a Joabe, o pai de Ge-Harasim, pois eles eram artesãos.

15Os filhos de Calebe, filho de Jefoné: Iru, Elá e Naã. O filho de Elá: Quenaz.

16Os filhos de Jealelel: Zife, Zifa, Tiria e Asarel.

17Os filhos de Ezra: Jéter, Merede, Éfer e Jalom; e a esposa de Merede deu à luz Miriã, Samai e Isbá, o pai de Estemoa.

18Sua esposa judia deu à luz Jerede, o pai de Gedor, Héber, o pai de Socó, e Jecutiel, o pai de Zanoa. Estes são os filhos de Bitia, a filha do faraó, que Merede tomou por mulher.

19Os filhos da esposa de Hodias, irmã de Naã, foram os pais de Queila, o garmita, e de Estemoa, o maacatita.

24Os filhos de Simeão: Nemuel, Jamim, Jaribe, Zerá, Saul;

25Salum, seu filho, Mibsão, seu filho, e Misma, seu filho.

27Simei teve dezesseis filhos e seis filhas; mas seus irmãos não tiveram muitos filhos, e toda a sua família não se multiplicou como os filhos de Judá.

28Eles moravam em Berseba, Molada, Hazar-Sual,

29em Bila, em Ezem, em Tolade,

30em Betuel, em Horma, em Ziclague,

31em Bete-Marcabote, em Hazar-Susim, em Bete-Biri e em Saaraim. Estas foram as suas cidades até o reinado de Davi.

32Suas aldeias foram Etã, Aim, Rimom, Toquém e Asã, cinco cidades;

33e todas as suas aldeias que estavam ao redor das mesmas cidades, até Baal. Estes foram os seus assentamentos, e eles mantiveram a sua genealogia.

34Mesobabe, Janleque, Josa, filho de Amazias,

35Joel, Jeú, filho de Josibias, filho de Seraías, filho de Asiel,

36Elioenai, Jaacobá, Jesoaías, Asaías, Adiel, Jesimiel, Benaia,

37e Ziza, filho de Sifi, filho de Alom, filho de Jedaías, filho de Sinri, filho de Semaías —

41Estes, registrados por nome, vieram nos dias de Ezequias, rei de Judá, e atacaram as suas tendas e os meunitas que foram encontrados lá; e eles os destruíram totalmente até o dia de hoje, e moraram no lugar deles, porque havia pasto lá para os seus rebanhos.

42Alguns deles, dos filhos de Simeão, quinhentos homens, foram para o monte Seir, tendo por seus capitães Pelatias, Nearias, Refaías e Uziel, os filhos de Isi.

43Eles atacaram o remanescente dos amalequitas que havia escapado, e moram lá até o dia de hoje.

11Chelub the brother of Shuhah became the father of Mehir, who was the father of Eshton.

12Eshton became the father of Beth Rapha, Paseah, and Tehinnah the father of Ir Nahash. These are the men of Recah.

13The sons of Kenaz: Othniel and Seraiah. The sons of Othniel: Hathath.

17The sons of Ezrah: Jether, Mered, Epher, and Jalon; and Mered’s wife bore Miriam, Shammai, and Ishbah the father of Eshtemoa.

18His wife the Jewess bore Jered the father of Gedor, Heber the father of Soco, and Jekuthiel the father of Zanoah. These are the sons of Bithiah the daughter of Pharaoh, whom Mered took.

19The sons of the wife of Hodiah, the sister of Naham, were the fathers of Keilah the Garmite and Eshtemoa the Maacathite.

31at Beth Marcaboth, Hazar Susim, at Beth Biri, and at Shaaraim. These were their cities until David’s reign.

32Their villages were Etam, Ain, Rimmon, Tochen, and Ashan, five cities;

33and all their villages that were around the same cities, as far as Baal. These were their settlements, and they kept their genealogy.

34Meshobab, Jamlech, Joshah the son of Amaziah,

35Joel, Jehu the son of Joshibiah, the son of Seraiah, the son of Asiel,

36Elioenai, Jaakobah, Jeshohaiah, Asaiah, Adiel, Jesimiel, Benaiah,

37and Ziza the son of Shiphi, the son of Allon, the son of Jedaiah, the son of Shimri, the son of Shemaiah—

38these mentioned by name were princes in their families. Their fathers’ houses increased greatly.

39They went to the entrance of Gedor, even to the east side of the valley, to seek pasture for their flocks.

40They found rich, good pasture, and the land was wide, and quiet, and peaceful, for those who lived there before were descended from Ham.

41These written by name came in the days of Hezekiah king of Judah, and struck their tents and the Meunim who were found there; and they destroyed them utterly to this day, and lived in their place, because there was pasture there for their flocks.

42Some of them, even of the sons of Simeon, five hundred men, went to Mount Seir, having for their captains Pelatiah, Neariah, Rephaiah, and Uzziel, the sons of Ishi.

43They struck the remnant of the Amalekites who escaped, and have lived there to this day.
