1Além disso, Davi e os comandantes do exército separaram para o serviço alguns dos filhos de Asafe, de Hemã e de Jedutum, que deviam profetizar com harpas, com instrumentos de cordas e com címbalos. O número dos que faziam a obra de acordo com o seu serviço foi:

2dos filhos de Asafe: Zacur, José, Netanias e Asarela. Os filhos de Asafe estavam sob a direção de Asafe, que profetizava sob as ordens do rei.

3De Jedutum, os filhos de Jedutum: Gedalias, Zeri, Jesaías, Simei, Hasabias e Matitias, seis, sob a direção de seu pai Jedutum, que profetizava dando graças e louvando ao SENHOR com a harpa.

4De Hemã, os filhos de Hemã: Buquias, Matanias, Uziel, Sebuel, Jerimote, Hananias, Hanani, Eliata, Gidalti, Romamti-Ezer, Josbecasa, Maloti, Hotir e Maaziote.

5Todos estes eram filhos de Hemã, o vidente do rei nas palavras de Deus, para exaltar o seu poder. Deus deu a Hemã catorze filhos e três filhas.

6Todos estes estavam sob a direção de seu pai para o canto na casa do SENHOR, com címbalos, instrumentos de cordas e harpas, para o serviço da casa de Deus; estando Asafe, Jedutum e Hemã sob as ordens do rei.

7O número deles, com seus irmãos que foram instruídos no canto ao SENHOR, todos os quais eram habilidosos, foi de duzentos e oitenta e oito.

8Eles lançaram sortes para os seus cargos, todos de igual modo, tanto o pequeno como o grande, tanto o mestre como o discípulo.

9A primeira sorte saiu para Asafe, a favor de José; a segunda para Gedalias, ele, seus irmãos e seus filhos eram doze;

10a terceira para Zacur, seus filhos e seus irmãos, doze;

11a quarta para Izri, seus filhos e seus irmãos, doze;

12a quinta para Netanias, seus filhos e seus irmãos, doze;

13a sexta para Buquias, seus filhos e seus irmãos, doze;

14a sétima para Jesarela, seus filhos e seus irmãos, doze;

15a oitava para Jesaías, seus filhos e seus irmãos, doze;

16a nona para Matanias, seus filhos e seus irmãos, doze;

17a décima para Simei, seus filhos e seus irmãos, doze;

18a décima primeira para Azarel, seus filhos e seus irmãos, doze;

19a décima segunda para Hasabias, seus filhos e seus irmãos, doze;

20para a décima terceira, Subael, seus filhos e seus irmãos, doze;

21para a décima quarta, Matitias, seus filhos e seus irmãos, doze;

22para a décima quinta, a Jeremote, seus filhos e seus irmãos, doze;

23para a décima sexta, a Hananias, seus filhos e seus irmãos, doze;

24para a décima sétima, a Josbecasa, seus filhos e seus irmãos, doze;

25para a décima oitava, a Hanani, seus filhos e seus irmãos, doze;

26para a décima nona, a Maloti, seus filhos e seus irmãos, doze;

27para a vigésima, a Eliata, seus filhos e seus irmãos, doze;

28para a vigésima primeira, a Hotir, seus filhos e seus irmãos, doze;

29para a vigésima segunda, a Gidalti, seus filhos e seus irmãos, doze;

30para a vigésima terceira, a Maaziote, seus filhos e seus irmãos, doze;

31para a vigésima quarta, a Romamti-Ezer, seus filhos e seus irmãos, doze.

1Moreover, David and the captains of the army set apart for the service certain of the sons of Asaph, of Heman, and of Jeduthun, who were to prophesy with harps, with stringed instruments, and with cymbals. The number of those who did the work according to their service was:

2of the sons of Asaph: Zaccur, Joseph, Nethaniah, and Asharelah. The sons of Asaph were under the hand of Asaph, who prophesied at the order of the king.

3Of Jeduthun, the sons of Jeduthun: Gedaliah, Zeri, Jeshaiah, Shimei, Hashabiah, and Mattithiah, six, under the hands of their father Jeduthun, who prophesied in giving thanks and praising Yahweh with the harp.

4Of Heman, the sons of Heman: Bukkiah, Mattaniah, Uzziel, Shebuel, Jerimoth, Hananiah, Hanani, Eliathah, Giddalti, Romamti-Ezer, Joshbekashah, Mallothi, Hothir, and Mahazioth.

5All these were the sons of Heman the king’s seer in the words of God, to lift up the horn. God gave to Heman fourteen sons and three daughters.

6All these were under the hands of their father for song in Yahweh’s house, with cymbals, stringed instruments, and harps, for the service of God’s house: Asaph, Jeduthun, and Heman being under the order of the king.

7The number of them, with their brothers who were instructed in singing to Yahweh, even all who were skillful, was two hundred eighty-eight.

8They cast lots for their offices, all alike, the small as well as the great, the teacher as well as the student.

9Now the first lot came out for Asaph to Joseph; the second to Gedaliah, he and his brothers and sons were twelve;

10the third to Zaccur, his sons and his brothers, twelve;

11the fourth to Izri, his sons and his brothers, twelve;

12the fifth to Nethaniah, his sons and his brothers, twelve;

13the sixth to Bukkiah, his sons and his brothers, twelve;

14the seventh to Jesharelah, his sons and his brothers, twelve;

15the eighth to Jeshaiah, his sons and his brothers, twelve;

16the ninth to Mattaniah, his sons and his brothers, twelve;

17the tenth to Shimei, his sons and his brothers, twelve;

18the eleventh to Azarel, his sons and his brothers, twelve;

19the twelfth to Hashabiah, his sons and his brothers, twelve;

20for the thirteenth, Shubael, his sons and his brothers, twelve;

21for the fourteenth, Mattithiah, his sons and his brothers, twelve;

22for the fifteenth to Jeremoth, his sons and his brothers, twelve;

23for the sixteenth to Hananiah, his sons and his brothers, twelve;

24for the seventeenth to Joshbekashah, his sons and his brothers, twelve;

25for the eighteenth to Hanani, his sons and his brothers, twelve;

26for the nineteenth to Mallothi, his sons and his brothers, twelve;

27for the twentieth to Eliathah, his sons and his brothers, twelve;

28for the twenty-first to Hothir, his sons and his brothers, twelve;

29for the twenty-second to Giddalti, his sons and his brothers, twelve;

30for the twenty-third to Mahazioth, his sons and his brothers, twelve;

31for the twenty-fourth to Romamti-Ezer, his sons and his brothers, twelve.
