5Os filhos de Jafé: Gômer, Magogue, Madai, Javã, Tubal, Meseque e Tiras.

6Os filhos de Gômer: Asquenaz, Difate e Togarma.

7Os filhos de Javã: Elisá, Társis, Quitim e Rodanim.

8Os filhos de Cam: Cuxe, Mizraim, Pute e Canaã.

9Os filhos de Cuxe: Sebá, Havilá, Sabtá, Raamá e Sabteca. Os filhos de Raamá: Sabá e Dedã.

10Cuxe gerou Ninrode. Ele começou a ser poderoso na terra.

11Mizraim gerou Ludim, Anamim, Leabim, Naftuim,

12Patrusim, Casluim (de onde vieram os filisteus) e Caftorim.

13Canaã gerou Sidom, seu primogênito, Hete,

14o jebuseu, o amorreu, o girgaseu,

15o heveu, o arqueu, o sineu,

16o arvadeu, o zemareu e o hamateu.

17Os filhos de Sem: Elão, Assur, Arfaxade, Lude, Arã, Uz, Hul, Geter e Meseque.

18Arfaxade gerou Selá, e Selá gerou Héber.

19A Héber nasceram dois filhos: o nome de um foi Pelegue, pois em seus dias a terra foi dividida; e o nome de seu irmão era Joctã.

20Joctã gerou Almodá, Selefe, Hazarmavé, Jerá,

21Hadorão, Uzal, Dicla,

22Ebal, Abimael, Sabá,

23Ofir, Havilá e Jobabe. Todos estes foram filhos de Joctã.

24Sem, Arfaxade, Selá,

25Héber, Pelegue, Reú,

26Serugue, Naor, Terá,

27Abrão (também chamado Abraão).

28Os filhos de Abraão: Isaque e Ismael.

29Estas são as suas gerações: o primogênito de Ismael, Nebaiote; depois Quedar, Adbeel, Mibsão,

30Misma, Dumá, Massá, Hadade, Temá,

31Jetur, Nafis e Quedemá. Estes são os filhos de Ismael.

32Os filhos de Quetura, concubina de Abraão: ela deu à luz Zinrã, Jocsã, Medã, Midiã, Isbaque e Suá. Os filhos de Jocsã: Sabá e Dedã.

33Os filhos de Midiã: Efá, Efer, Enoque, Abida e Eldaa. Todos estes foram filhos de Quetura.

34Abraão gerou Isaque. Os filhos de Isaque: Esaú e Israel.

35Os filhos de Esaú: Elifaz, Reuel, Jeús, Jalão e Corá.

36Os filhos de Elifaz: Temã, Omar, Zefi, Gaetã, Quenaz, Timna e Amaleque.

37Os filhos de Reuel: Naate, Zerá, Samá e Mizá.

38Os filhos de Seir: Lotã, Sobal, Zibeão, Aná, Disom, Ezer e Disã.

39Os filhos de Lotã: Hori e Homã; e Timna era irmã de Lotã.

40Os filhos de Sobal: Aliã, Manaate, Ebal, Sefi e Onã. Os filhos de Zibeão: Aiá e Aná.

41O filho de Aná: Disom. Os filhos de Disom: Hanrão, Esbã, Itrã e Querã.

42Os filhos de Ezer: Bilã, Zaavã e Jaacã. Os filhos de Disã: Uz e Arã.

43Ora, estes são os reis que reinaram na terra de Edom, antes que qualquer rei reinasse sobre os filhos de Israel: Belá, filho de Beor; e o nome de sua cidade era Dinabá.

44Belá morreu, e Jobabe, filho de Zerá, de Bozra, reinou em seu lugar.

45Jobabe morreu, e Husão, da terra dos temanitas, reinou em seu lugar.

46Husão morreu, e Hadade, filho de Bedade, que derrotou Midiã no campo de Moabe, reinou em seu lugar; e o nome de sua cidade era Avite.

47Hadade morreu, e Sanlá, de Masreca, reinou em seu lugar.

48Sanlá morreu, e Saul, de Reobote, junto ao Rio, reinou em seu lugar.

49Saul morreu, e Baal-Hanã, filho de Acbor, reinou em seu lugar.

50Baal-Hanã morreu, e Hadade reinou em seu lugar; e o nome de sua cidade era Pai. O nome de sua mulher era Meetabel, filha de Matrede, filha de Me-Zaabe.

51Então Hadade morreu. Os chefes de Edom foram: o chefe Timna, o chefe Aliá, o chefe Jetete,

52o chefe Oolibama, o chefe Elá, o chefe Pinom,

53o chefe Quenaz, o chefe Temã, o chefe Mibzar,

54o chefe Magdiel e o chefe Irão. Estes são os chefes de Edom.

7The sons of Javan: Elishah, Tarshish, Kittim, and Rodanim.

8The sons of Ham: Cush, Mizraim, Put, and Canaan.

9The sons of Cush: Seba, Havilah, Sabta, Raama, Sabteca. The sons of Raamah: Sheba and Dedan.

10Cush became the father of Nimrod. He began to be a mighty one in the earth.

11Mizraim became the father of Ludim, Anamim, Lehabim, Naphtuhim,

12Pathrusim, Casluhim (where the Philistines came from), and Caphtorim.

13Canaan became the father of Sidon his firstborn, Heth,

14the Jebusite, the Amorite, the Girgashite,

15the Hivite, the Arkite, the Sinite,

16the Arvadite, the Zemarite, and the Hamathite.

17The sons of Shem: Elam, Asshur, Arpachshad, Lud, Aram, Uz, Hul, Gether, and Meshech.

18Arpachshad became the father of Shelah, and Shelah became the father of Eber.

19To Eber were born two sons: the name of the one was Peleg, for in his days the earth was divided; and his brother’s name was Joktan.

20Joktan became the father of Almodad, Sheleph, Hazarmaveth, Jerah,

21Hadoram, Uzal, Diklah,

22Ebal, Abimael, Sheba,

23Ophir, Havilah, and Jobab. All these were the sons of Joktan.

24Shem, Arpachshad, Shelah,

25Eber, Peleg, Reu,

26Serug, Nahor, Terah,

27Abram (also called Abraham).

28The sons of Abraham: Isaac and Ishmael.

29These are their generations: the firstborn of Ishmael, Nebaioth; then Kedar, Adbeel, Mibsam,

32The sons of Keturah, Abraham’s concubine: she bore Zimran, Jokshan, Medan, Midian, Ishbak, and Shuah. The sons of Jokshan: Sheba and Dedan.

33The sons of Midian: Ephah, Epher, Hanoch, Abida, and Eldaah. All these were the sons of Keturah.

34Abraham became the father of Isaac. The sons of Isaac: Esau and Israel.

35The sons of Esau: Eliphaz, Reuel, Jeush, Jalam, and Korah.

36The sons of Eliphaz: Teman, Omar, Zephi, Gatam, Kenaz, Timna, and Amalek.

37The sons of Reuel: Nahath, Zerah, Shammah, and Mizzah.

38The sons of Seir: Lotan, Shobal, Zibeon, Anah, Dishon, Ezer, and Dishan.

39The sons of Lotan: Hori and Homam; and Timna was Lotan’s sister.

40The sons of Shobal: Alian, Manahath, Ebal, Shephi, and Onam. The sons of Zibeon: Aiah and Anah.

41The son of Anah: Dishon. The sons of Dishon: Hamran, Eshban, Ithran, and Cheran.

42The sons of Ezer: Bilhan, Zaavan, and Jaakan. The sons of Dishan: Uz and Aran.

43Now these are the kings who reigned in the land of Edom, before any king reigned over the children of Israel: Bela the son of Beor; and the name of his city was Dinhabah.

44Bela died, and Jobab the son of Zerah of Bozrah reigned in his place.

45Jobab died, and Husham of the land of the Temanites reigned in his place.

46Husham died, and Hadad the son of Bedad, who struck Midian in the field of Moab, reigned in his place; and the name of his city was Avith.

47Hadad died, and Samlah of Masrekah reigned in his place.

48Samlah died, and Shaul of Rehoboth by the River reigned in his place.

49Shaul died, and Baal Hanan the son of Achbor reigned in his place.

50Baal Hanan died, and Hadad reigned in his place; and the name of his city was Pai. His wife’s name was Mehetabel, the daughter of Matred, the daughter of Mezahab.

51Then Hadad died. The chiefs of Edom were: chief Timna, chief Aliah, chief Jetheth,

52chief Oholibamah, chief Elah, chief Pinon,

53chief Kenaz, chief Teman, chief Mibzar,

54chief Magdiel, and chief Iram. These are the chiefs of Edom.
