1 Crônicas 18— comparação

1Depois disso, Davi derrotou os filisteus e os subjugou, e tomou Gate e seus povoados das mãos dos filisteus.

2Ele derrotou Moabe; e os moabitas se tornaram servos de Davi e trouxeram tributo.

3Davi derrotou Hadadezer, rei de Zobá, na direção de Hamate, quando este foi estabelecer o seu domínio junto ao rio Eufrates.

4Davi tomou dele mil carros, sete mil cavaleiros e vinte mil soldados de infantaria; e Davi cortou os tendões de todos os cavalos dos carros, mas reservou deles o suficiente para cem carros.

5Quando os sírios de Damasco vieram ajudar Hadadezer, rei de Zobá, Davi matou vinte e dois mil homens dos sírios.

6Então Davi colocou guarnições na Síria de Damasco; e os sírios se tornaram servos de Davi e trouxeram tributo. O SENHOR deu vitória a Davi por onde quer que ele fosse.

7Davi tomou os escudos de ouro que estavam com os servos de Hadadezer, e os trouxe para Jerusalém.

8De Tibate e de Cum, cidades de Hadadezer, Davi tomou muitíssimo bronze, com o qual Salomão fez o mar de bronze, as colunas e os utensílios de bronze.

9Quando Toú, rei de Hamate, ouviu que Davi tinha derrotado todo o exército de Hadadezer, rei de Zobá,

10ele enviou seu filho Hadorão ao rei Davi para saudá-lo e abençoá-lo, porque ele havia lutado contra Hadadezer e o derrotado (pois Hadadezer fazia guerra contra Toú); e ele trazia consigo todo tipo de utensílios de ouro, prata e bronze.

11O rei Davi também os dedicou ao SENHOR, juntamente com a prata e o ouro que ele havia trazido de todas as nações: de Edom, de Moabe, dos filhos de Amom, dos filisteus e de Amaleque.

12Além disso, Abisai, filho de Zeruia, matou dezoito mil edomitas no Vale do Sal.

13Ele colocou guarnições em Edom; e todos os edomitas se tornaram servos de Davi. O SENHOR deu vitória a Davi por onde quer que ele fosse.

14Davi reinou sobre todo o Israel; e ele administrava a justiça e o direito para todo o seu povo.

15Joabe, filho de Zeruia, era o comandante do exército; Josafá, filho de Ailude, era o cronista;

16Zadoque, filho de Aitube, e Abimeleque, filho de Abiatar, eram sacerdotes; Savsa era o escrivão;

17e Benaia, filho de Joiada, comandava os quereteus e os peleteus; e os filhos de Davi eram os principais oficiais a serviço do rei.

1After this, David defeated the Philistines and subdued them, and took Gath and its towns out of the hand of the Philistines.

2He defeated Moab; and the Moabites became servants to David and brought tribute.

3David defeated Hadadezer king of Zobah, toward Hamath, as he went to establish his dominion by the river Euphrates.

4David took from him one thousand chariots, seven thousand horsemen, and twenty thousand footmen; and David hamstrung all the chariot horses, but reserved of them enough for one hundred chariots.

5When the Syrians of Damascus came to help Hadadezer king of Zobah, David struck twenty-two thousand men of the Syrians.

6Then David put garrisons in Syria of Damascus; and the Syrians became servants to David and brought tribute. Yahweh gave victory to David wherever he went.

7David took the shields of gold that were on the servants of Hadadezer, and brought them to Jerusalem.

8From Tibhath and from Cun, cities of Hadadezer, David took very much bronze, with which Solomon made the bronze sea, the pillars, and the vessels of bronze.

9When Tou king of Hamath heard that David had struck all the army of Hadadezer king of Zobah,

10he sent Hadoram his son to King David to greet him and to bless him, because he had fought against Hadadezer and struck him (for Hadadezer had wars with Tou); and he had with him all kinds of vessels of gold and silver and bronze.

11King David also dedicated these to Yahweh, with the silver and the gold that he carried away from all the nations: from Edom, from Moab, from the children of Ammon, from the Philistines, and from Amalek.

12Moreover Abishai the son of Zeruiah struck eighteen thousand of the Edomites in the Valley of Salt.

13He put garrisons in Edom; and all the Edomites became servants to David. Yahweh gave victory to David wherever he went.

14David reigned over all Israel; and he executed justice and righteousness for all his people.

15Joab the son of Zeruiah was over the army; Jehoshaphat the son of Ahilud was recorder;

16Zadok the son of Ahitub and Abimelech the son of Abiathar were priests; Shavsha was scribe;

17and Benaiah the son of Jehoiada was over the Cherethites and the Pelethites; and the sons of David were chief officials serving the king.
