1 Crônicas 14— comparação

1Hirão, rei de Tiro, enviou mensageiros a Davi com madeira de cedro, pedreiros e carpinteiros, para construir-lhe uma casa.

2Davi percebeu que o SENHOR o havia estabelecido rei sobre Israel, pois o seu reino foi muito exaltado, por amor do seu povo Israel.

3Davi tomou mais esposas em Jerusalém, e Davi tornou-se pai de mais filhos e filhas.

4Estes são os nomes dos filhos que ele teve em Jerusalém: Samua, Sobabe, Natã, Salomão,

5Ibar, Elisua, Elpelete,

6Noga, Nefegue, Jafia,

7Elisama, Beliada e Elifelete.

8Quando os filisteus ouviram que Davi havia sido ungido rei sobre todo o Israel, todos os filisteus subiram em busca de Davi; e Davi ouviu isso, e saiu contra eles.

9Ora, os filisteus tinham vindo e feito uma incursão no vale de Refaim.

10Davi consultou a Deus, dizendo: “Devo subir contra os filisteus? O Senhor os entregará na minha mão?”

11Então eles subiram a Baal-Perazim, e Davi os derrotou ali. Davi disse: “Deus rompeu os meus inimigos por minha mão, como águas que rompem.” Portanto, chamaram o nome daquele lugar de Baal-Perazim.

12Eles deixaram seus deuses ali; e Davi deu uma ordem, e eles foram queimados no fogo.

13Os filisteus fizeram outra incursão no vale.

14Davi consultou novamente a Deus; e Deus lhe disse: “Você não deve subir atrás deles. Desvie-se deles, e venha sobre eles em frente às amoreiras.

15Quando você ouvir o som de marcha nas copas das amoreiras, então saia para a batalha; pois Deus saiu à sua frente para ferir o exército dos filisteus.”

16Davi fez como Deus lhe ordenou; e eles atacaram o exército dos filisteus desde Gibeão até Gezer.

17A fama de Davi se espalhou por todas as terras; e o SENHOR trouxe o temor dele sobre todas as nações.

1Hiram king of Tyre sent messengers to David with cedar trees, masons, and carpenters, to build him a house.

2David perceived that Yahweh had established him king over Israel, for his kingdom was highly exalted, for his people Israel’s sake.

3David took more wives in Jerusalem, and David became the father of more sons and daughters.

4These are the names of the children whom he had in Jerusalem: Shammua, Shobab, Nathan, Solomon,

5Ibhar, Elishua, Elpelet,

6Nogah, Nepheg, Japhia,

7Elishama, Beeliada, and Eliphelet.

8When the Philistines heard that David was anointed king over all Israel, all the Philistines went up to seek David; and David heard of it, and went out against them.

9Now the Philistines had come and made a raid in the valley of Rephaim.

10David inquired of God, saying, “Shall I go up against the Philistines? Will you deliver them into my hand?” Yahweh said to him, “Go up; for I will deliver them into your hand.”

11So they came up to Baal Perazim, and David defeated them there. David said, God has broken my enemies by my hand, like waters breaking out. Therefore they called the name of that place Baal Perazim.

12They left their gods there; and David gave a command, and they were burned with fire.

13The Philistines made another raid in the valley.

14David inquired again of God; and God said to him, “You shall not go up after them. Turn away from them, and come on them opposite the mulberry trees.

15When you hear the sound of marching in the tops of the mulberry trees, then go out to battle; for God has gone out before you to strike the army of the Philistines.”

16David did as God commanded him; and they attacked the army of the Philistines from Gibeon even to Gezer.

17The fame of David went out into all lands; and Yahweh brought the fear of him on all nations.
