1 Coríntios 12— comparação

1Ora, a respeito das coisas espirituais, irmãos, não quero que vocês sejam ignorantes.

2Vocês sabem que, quando eram pagãos, eram arrastados para aqueles ídolos mudos, da forma como eram conduzidos.

3Portanto, eu lhes faço saber que ninguém que fala pelo Espírito de Deus diz: “Jesus é maldito”. E ninguém pode dizer: “Jesus é Senhor”, a não ser pelo Espírito Santo.

4Ora, há diferentes tipos de dons, mas o Espírito é o mesmo.

5Há diferentes tipos de ministérios, e o Senhor é o mesmo.

6Há diferentes tipos de operações, mas é o mesmo Deus quem opera todas as coisas em todos.

7Mas a cada um é dada a manifestação do Espírito para o proveito de todos.

8Porque a um é dada, pelo Espírito, a palavra da sabedoria; e a outro, a palavra do conhecimento, segundo o mesmo Espírito;

9a outro, a fé, pelo mesmo Espírito; e a outro, dons de curas, pelo mesmo Espírito;

10e a outro, operações de milagres; e a outro, profecia; e a outro, discernimento de espíritos; a outro, diferentes tipos de línguas; e a outro, a interpretação de línguas.

11Mas um só e o mesmo Espírito produz todas essas coisas, distribuindo individualmente a cada um, como ele deseja.

12Porque, assim como o corpo é um e tem muitos membros, e todos os membros do corpo, embora muitos, são um só corpo, assim também é Cristo.

13Pois em um só Espírito todos nós fomos batizados em um só corpo, quer judeus, quer gregos, quer escravos, quer livres; e a todos nós foi dado beber de um só Espírito.

14Porque o corpo não é um só membro, mas muitos.

15Se o pé dissesse: “Porque não sou mão, não sou parte do corpo”, nem por isso deixaria de ser parte do corpo.

16Se o ouvido dissesse: “Porque não sou olho, não sou parte do corpo”, nem por isso deixaria de ser parte do corpo.

17Se todo o corpo fosse olho, onde estaria a audição? Se todo o corpo fosse audição, onde estaria o olfato?

18Mas agora Deus colocou os membros, cada um deles, no corpo, exatamente como ele desejou.

19Se todos fossem um só membro, onde estaria o corpo?

20Mas agora eles são muitos membros, porém um só corpo.

21O olho não pode dizer à mão: “Não tenho necessidade de você”, nem tampouco a cabeça aos pés: “Não tenho necessidade de vocês.”

22Pelo contrário, os membros do corpo que parecem ser mais fracos são necessários.

23E aquelas partes do corpo que pensamos ser menos honrosas, a essas concedemos honra muito mais abundante; e as nossas partes não apresentáveis recebem maior decoro,

24enquanto as nossas partes apresentáveis não têm tal necessidade. Mas Deus compôs o corpo em conjunto, dando honra mais abundante à parte inferior,

25para que não houvesse divisão no corpo, mas para que os membros tivessem o mesmo cuidado uns para com os outros.

26Quando um membro sofre, todos os membros sofrem com ele. Quando um membro é honrado, todos os membros se alegram com ele.

27Ora, vocês são o corpo de Cristo, e membros individualmente.

28Deus estabeleceu alguns na igreja: primeiro apóstolos, segundo profetas, terceiro mestres, depois operadores de milagres, depois dons de curas, socorros, governos e diferentes tipos de línguas.

29São todos apóstolos? São todos profetas? São todos mestres? São todos operadores de milagres?

30Têm todos dons de curas? Falam todos em diferentes línguas? Todos interpretam?

31Mas desejem ardentemente os melhores dons. E, além disso, eu lhes mostro um caminho ainda mais excelente.

1Now concerning spiritual things, brothers, I don’t want you to be ignorant.

2You know that when you were heathen, you were led away to those mute idols, however you might be led.

3Therefore I make known to you that no man speaking by God’s Spirit says, “Jesus is accursed.” No one can say, “Jesus is Lord,” but by the Holy Spirit.

4Now there are various kinds of gifts, but the same Spirit.

5There are various kinds of service, and the same Lord.

6There are various kinds of workings, but the same God who works all things in all.

7But to each one is given the manifestation of the Spirit for the profit of all.

8For to one is given through the Spirit the word of wisdom, and to another the word of knowledge according to the same Spirit,

9to another faith by the same Spirit, and to another gifts of healings by the same Spirit,

10and to another workings of miracles, and to another prophecy, and to another discerning of spirits, to another different kinds of languages, and to another the interpretation of languages.

11But the one and the same Spirit produces all of these, distributing to each one separately as he desires.

12For as the body is one and has many members, and all the members of the body, being many, are one body; so also is Christ.

13For in one Spirit we were all baptized into one body, whether Jews or Greeks, whether bond or free; and were all given to drink into one Spirit.

14For the body is not one member, but many.

15If the foot would say, “Because I’m not the hand, I’m not part of the body,” it is not therefore not part of the body.

16If the ear would say, “Because I’m not the eye, I’m not part of the body,” it’s not therefore not part of the body.

17If the whole body were an eye, where would the hearing be? If the whole were hearing, where would the smelling be?

18But now God has set the members, each one of them, in the body, just as he desired.

19If they were all one member, where would the body be?

20But now they are many members, but one body.

21The eye can’t tell the hand, “I have no need for you,” or again the head to the feet, “I have no need for you.”

22No, much rather, those members of the body which seem to be weaker are necessary.

23Those parts of the body which we think to be less honorable, on those we bestow more abundant honor; and our unpresentable parts have more abundant modesty,

24while our presentable parts have no such need. But God composed the body together, giving more abundant honor to the inferior part,

25that there should be no division in the body, but that the members should have the same care for one another.

26When one member suffers, all the members suffer with it. When one member is honored, all the members rejoice with it.

27Now you are the body of Christ, and members individually.

28God has set some in the assembly: first apostles, second prophets, third teachers, then miracle workers, then gifts of healings, helps, governments, and various kinds of languages.

29Are all apostles? Are all prophets? Are all teachers? Are all miracle workers?

30Do all have gifts of healings? Do all speak with various languages? Do all interpret?

31But earnestly desire the best gifts. Moreover, I show a most excellent way to you.
